Vinyl Devotion, “Always In Tears” (1998)

I think my verdict Floor Model is that Shalini Chatterjee found a surer footing when she began releasing music under her own (first) name two years later, but Floor Model is a pleasant enough listen and wish there was more access to the rest of the Vinyl Devotion catalog beyond the collection compiled on SoundCloud under the account of her new combo, Party Battleship.

Looking for Shalini

So was wondering what Shalini had gotten up to since it's been a couple years since her last record and discovered (a) that she's the missing link between this year's indie rock deaths of Faye Hunter and Scott Miller; and (b) that she and Mitch Easter had a nasty breakup apparently just a couple months before I saw Mitch play 'solo' for the first time.

But going back to my quest.... Some mentions about working on new recordings, but not much on that. Her web page (above) though does promise free downloads to come of tracks by her old elusive band Vinyl Devotion, which is worth looking forward to.
