Ok random but I need to talk about one of my favourite series that doesn’t get NEARLY enough love - the Last Magician series by Lisa Maxwell. I’ll always be astounded at how small the fandom is for these books. The writing, the plot, the magic system? All incredible. The setting? OMG THE SETTING. ACTUALLY SO SICK. Definitely my favourite I’ve ever read. 1900s Manhattan. Gangs. Grungy back allies. Add a bit of magic? SO COOL.

And the CHARACTERS. The reason I KNOW these books should be far more popular is that I love it mainly for the characters, which is also the reason I love most of my other favourite series, like AFTG, TRC, SOC and Dark Rise.

Kickass time traveler Esta Filosik. Lovable and problematic king Harte Darrigan. Jianyu and Cela my beloveds. Perhaps the badass ever, Viola Vaccarelli. Her dauntless journalist girlfriend, Ruby. Her girlfriend Ruby’s fiancé, Theo. I love them all so much. Need more people to read these books.
