Can’t believe this was 10 years already on 13th February 💔 Check out the great tribute Coldplay gave them at Glastonbury that year…🎸

I try to hide that I need you like I
Need the sky to light up at night
So I can see where I'm going
When I'm walking to you
But I made the mistake of giving away that I
Wanna call at the end of the day
And talk about plans wasting away with you
And that you seem to be the air that I breathe
And the last thing I think of as I fall asleep
But recently I've started to feel like I'll be
Slipping away at the end of the day
Into dreams of the two of us running away
It's okay, I'll just say I was drunk yesterday
And just hope that you still wanna stay
2019 Día 44. Life gave me back part of what I lost three years ago in that fateful weekend. However, it's really frustrating that the world can't recover your lives and the music your talent. The good good
Do you ever just listen to music that you used to listen to and get so into it and question why you ever stopped listening to it... that’s me, Viola Beach was and forever will be music to vibe to :)
FOR VIOLA BEACH
Tonight I was offered the chance to write for The Mixup. I’m so thankful for this opportunity and I will continue to post everything here, as well as on the other blog. It got me thinking about why I started this blog and the driving force that is behind it, and here that is. It’s different to how I usually write and I will get back to regular posting soon. I have an interview ready to post over this weekend which will interest some Catfish and the Bottlemen fans.
Big love as always, Issy x
FOR VIOLA BEACH -
I remember when I first heard about Viola Beach’s passing. I remember when I first heard their music and a feeling washed over me that I will never be able to articulate and describe properly. A feeling of loss, emotion and a anger at this World for taking one of the newest and most promising bands around. I also remember watching Glastonbury the year of their deaths and seeing Coldplay honour them with letting them headline for one song, where they would usually play Heroes by David Bowie.
I remember knowing that if it wasn’t for that tragic accident, then they would one day be headlining with their jangly guitar songs, such as Swings and Waterslides which is the ultimate summer anthem, filled with incredible guitar riffs and distinctive vocals taken from their self titled debut album, released shortly after the bands death.
In many ways, they were the first band that ever got me into indie music and for that I am forever thankful.
It has ultimately made me make the decisions I have, including writing here now and listening to all of the music I have since discovered from them.
So this is dedicated to Tomas, River, Kris, Jack - the Viola Beach boys and their manager Craig. Without your music and your story, I wouldn’t be writing this today and following my dreams. This is for you. I promise that you will never, ever be forgotten and that you will live on in your music forever.
I could never stop loving their music, sucks they left this world too soon :(
Viola Beach died two years ago today. I loved them and still do and its so heartbreaking to know they'll never make it like we know they could have :(
Wish they were still around to make more music :(
