“VILLAINS” is the latest single from the one-man goth unit known as VIOLENT LIGHT.
The Dewsbury, UK based project of Christopher Roberts has returned and further refined his goth from the bellow approach, as “Villains” searches deep & low for it’s inspiration. You can hear it in that treated voice, as Roberts projects this agony over a disco-lite arrangement.
Roberts maintains total control over his darkened vision, by infusing elements of post-punk and poppy darkwave, Violent Light offer up a balanced approach. Over an array of synths and drum-machine precision, Robert’s spills one out for the lost souls with choice lines like: “We’re just the villains, Lost in the night.”
