Over the past twenty years, Faye's social network multiplied. Throughout her marriage, the world felt very small. It was just the kids and Matthew and a few coworkers held at arms length. Now, she had friends in just about every corner of Maplebrook regardless of age. Violet was one of the ones that kept her young and "on trend." Raina breezed through the bed and breakfast, careful to avoid bumping into any guests in her hurry to reach Violet before someone else distracted her. "Hi," she greeted with a quick hug and peck to Vi's cheek. "Yes, I know, I probably should have called, but I'm in a bit of a panic."
Dramatic? Probably. For Faye, she felt it was warranted. "Poppy's coming into town," her daughter and youngest child who had high standards. "I need to get her a gift, but I feel like she has everything, and since you're both around the same age," Faye trailed off then paused, "Wait, don't answer that, yet. I'm being rude. How are you? Are you terribly busy right now?"
