Do Lena and Violet know Donald that well before he went missing?

They know him as 'Webby and the boys over protective uncle' they've naturally met him a few times. Lena saw Donald comforting Webby after Lena was turned into a shadow.

Violet's met him a few times during her sleepovers at the mansion she finds his bad luck interesting. theorizing some kind of magical curse or something.

I'd say they know him about as well as they know duckworth he's an adult in the household that they see when they visit but they don't really interact with him much. though Donald talks more then Duckworth.
