Rey tried to push against Kay’s hold, already saddened at having to leave, but a small vein of irritation at being held against the wall simmering. “I have to!”
“We need more blankets!”
“I think there’s more in the closet,” Rey said, popping out from under the blankets already piled on the floor just long enough to point at the closet in question.
“Could you actually tighten these ropes a bit? They are actually hurting me the way they rub against my skin.”
Rey barely acknowledged the pilot, though her head tilted slightly in her direction at the comment. It was certainly not the request she was expecting. And who was she to deny tighter ropes?
"Please talk to me about it."
Rey shook her head, glancing away. As much as she hated keeping things from Kay, this wasn’t something Rey was ready to talk about with anyone.

Rey’s eyes swept over the Resistance pilot. The capture of such individuals wasn’t exactly rare in and of itself, but the pilot’s rank marked her as special. If Rey brought her back to the First Order she would’t be praised, exactly, but it’d be the closest she’d get to it. Decision made, Rey strode towards the rebel, hand already moving to the saber clipped to her belt.
"This is not you. You're not a murderer!"
The woman’s voice pierced through the overwhelming urge Rey had to finish the fight -- to win. Sucking in a ragged breath, she lowered the blaster, taking a handful of steps back as she dragged herself from that mental cliff. Most of that nearly undeniable desire had waned, but she could still feel it just below the surface, too close still, as she watched their would-be attacker take off as best he could.
Running a hand across her face, she couldn’t quite bring herself to look at Kay. “Thank you,” she muttered, upset that she’d so nearly lost it.

It’s RARE ( for some reason ) to find female pilots in the Rebel Alliance. Evaan takes great comfort in the few that she does know --- Shara Bey and Kay Tane. She finds herself unequivocally drawn towards them, seeking out a friendship with the women in ranks dominated by MEN.
She can spot the purple hair from a parsec away --- it stands out amongst the white, orange, and yellow of the Alliance pilots. “Tane!” A hand is raised into the air, trying to catch the attention of the squadron leader. She needs time away from the likes of Biggs and Wedge --- she needs to spend time with some females.
