"I don't mean to treat you like a child, I-" was she meaning to? Was this some care or love for the other? Gemma, deep down, wanted to protect the other, even if she never wanted to admit it. "I just wanted to make sure you were safe. There was never a thought in my mind that you were some child that needed protecting. Yeah, I looked out for you and shit, but it wasn't because you were a child in my eyes." Inhaling deeply, she looked down, "if you want me to stop, I will stop."

"agent 72," isla said, sticking out her hand to the red head. they'd crossed each other's orbits a few time before, but the SHIELD agent had never been fully introduced to the woman.

"thanks for saving my ass back there." isla could have handled it on her own, but there was something she was coming to realize; working as a team was a good thing. dare she say it, isla CRAVED having a team of her own. maybe fury would give her a unit or something. @viperbit gets a random starter

THERE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT the red head that screamed to Evan that she, too, had been subjected to horrible experiments. Had been broken and remade into a weapon. But even though those thoughts danced across his mind, Lucentforce had given him orders. And as he stay trapped under their control, he had a mission to complete. That mission was to aid this woman, Cel, on her mission. Why, he didn't know. Evan wasn't allowed to ask questions. Just do what he'd been programmed to go.

Emotionless face stared at her sharp features and wide eyes. She was beautiful. God, he needed to keep his thoughts to himself. Upon his return, Lucentforce would hook him up to The Machine to extrapolate all that he'd done. The youth shivered.

"Ready?" he asked. @viperbit gets a starter from Evan

"I'm just not apologizing for my jokes anymore." Kate said with a shrug as she unlocked their apartment door. "These are all adults, they can just deal with it." With that, the archer stepped toward the wine fridge and pulled out a bottle of their favorite white. "On a brighter note, I got some ice cream that's supposed to go really well with this."

He didn’t look into her eyes, avoided the topic even as his eyes attempt to land on anything else that was of interest. Nothing was entirely doing it, his brow furrowing in frustration as he ignored the pain and kept a hand to his side. He knew it was out of care, out of concern, but he still couldn’t bring himself to let her see any pain. Any crack in his wall that would let the pain seep through and show he wasn’t impervious. “It doesn’t matter.” He grumbles out, moving to get up and walk past her. Though he knew she wasn’t going to drop it, she was too stubborn and it’s why they were in the position they were right now. But even still he doesn’t meet her gaze, his back remaining to her with a small turn of his head to partially look over his shoulder though it never was at her. “You don’t need to worry about me.” His head moves to look back ahead, jaw flexing when he hears shuffling from behind as he reached for the door. She slid between the space between him and handle, making his hand fall to his side as his eyes rolled. “Can’t you leave it alone?”
