What makes you think he shuts down?

idk just the way he is like his vibe, he himself says he's more of the silent type and silent types tend to shut down and shut down leads to silent treatment. sure he's blunt but i think he'd either a, be an ass or b, not want to piss his girl off more therefore just shut down instead as an alternative.
