A test of sorts. I haven’t been drawing backgrounds lately so this is my attempt at that + I was bombarded with pictures of Rakotzbrücke (the Devil’s Bridge) yesterday from multiple sources so this happened.

Still moderately obsessed with the “In another world” concept.

Day 5 & 6 of me vs clip studio. Still trying to get the hang of the brushes. As soon as I think I understand it, I’ll try to get some specific effect or other and it just doesn’t do the thing. Anyway, I have tried to execute this idea in photoshop before and failed so terribly I didn’t bother posting it. This one is not much better, but since my focus is on learning the software not making good pictures, I think it’s worth posting. Also, this isn’t canon to any fic I’ve written, I just liked the idea.

Day 3 of me vs clip studio. Ever have that thing where your current obsession loses it’s grip on you and you’re happy because now you can “focus” on what you “really” want to do, but once you try to work on your own projects you realize you’re just an unmotivated, empty shell without a hyperfixation? no? just me? ok then.

Day 1 (or day 1.5) of fighting with Clip Studio. It will take some getting used to, and I can’t tell how much of my crap drawing is due to being out of practice, something weird with my tablet, or the unfamiliar software, BUT I really really like their default realistic watercolor brush. Which is good because I already cancelled my subscription to creative cloud and uninstalled PS. There is only forward from here.

A few days ago I made an account on mastodon.art to see what it’s about and I made a masthead for it! I think the idea is interesting (distributed social networks) but it moves really fast so i’m a bit intimidated by it. I think it’s more like twitter than tumblr and i never could get into twitter. 

Also, I got into pillowfort.io the last time they had beta signups. I haven’t posted anything there yet because I haven’t been making a lot of fanart and anyway all the people that matter to me online are here. If you guys end up going over to pillowfort i’m knamil over there too. say hi and I will follow you.

To Keeper Deshanna Istimaethoriel,

I hope this message finds you before the Inquisition does. I was forced to use channels that I promised to abandon when I returned to you, but we both knew it wouldn’t last even before I arrived at the Conclave.

The Chantry’s leader is dead in an explosion. You can probably see the effects all the way from the Free Marches. They’re calling it the Breach.

There is more, so much more. I was in the Fade. I don’t know how long I was there. I saw the end of our world. Whether it was a nightmare or a warning I know one thing: It is not safe for Lavellan in the Free Marches.

By the time you read this, you will be nearing the lands held by the Duke of Wycome. Do not go near. Get our people as far from there and the Breach as you can. I will not be returning to you. What happened in the Fade has changed me and no home will ever be safe for me now.

Despite all that has happened, I believe these days are a gift. If what I have seen has even the smallest grain of truth, it must never come to pass. I will fight to my last to see that it is never so.
