The Week That Was
other week is in the books at TVC and it has been as busy as ever! Our favourite Essex lad, Jamie Oliver, has partnered with Bacardi to launch a brand new YouTube channel called Drinks Tube (get it?). Packed full of awesome videos, Jamie et al. guide you through making some delish cocktails in the comfort of your own home. A fav of ours is the Espresso Martini by the somewhat crazy but awesome Genarro Contaldo.
They say food is a way to a man’s heart. Well we think that cocktails are the way to anyone’s heart – especially if you’ve had enough of them ;)
One man who may like a Caipirinha or two (not before a match day though) is Brazilian footballing superstar Neymar Jr, who we had the pleasure of meeting as he launched his brand new video, Castrol Footkhana.
Trust us when we tell you that this video is well worth checking out, as Rally superstar Ken Block and Neymar Jr duelled in a number of unique football and driving challenges.
And let’s just say that the World Cup will be a doddle after that!
Notorious self-publicist Leon was at it again this week as he took advantage of a plum filming spot on top of the O2 Arena, to take this rather fetching selfie.
Now Leon hadn’t just found his way there by accident, he was there to help Sam Branson, Jack Whitehall, Dr Brian Cox and others, launch the Virgin STRIVE challenge, a mass participatory fund-raising event organised by Sam Branson and the charity Big Change.
The Challenge which takes place from 7 August to 6 September 2014, will see a core team of people travel from the The O2 in London to the summit of the Matterhorn in Switzerland, entirely under human power.
And speaking of mass endurance events, this weekend TVC are also working on Wings For Life. The World’s first globally simultaneous run, happening in 32 countries across the globe.
Two very worthy causes but it all seems a bit too much for this very unfit writer… now where’s my Bloody Mary?
