Was watching Bergman's Virgin Spring, and the recurrent theme that came to my mind was around the portrayal of 'mad women' (often equated with whores) in Cinema. Ofcourse the depiction varies according to director and genre that one comes across regularly. Can somebody enlighten me, in terms of an overview of such a theme?
