he was the one who killed oryx but i don’t think that would change anything about him. honestly i hope something big happens when we revisit the old raids so i can....[looks at jack]

honestly tho only good things for jack. he’s 2 good. so good that not even enemies wanna corrupt him.

(but when he does all the good things, when he kills oryx when he figured out how to kill aksis how to get through the raid he feels a weight on his shoulders like he’s supposed to do this all the time now; what’s he going to do when he can’t figure something out? what’s he going to do when his friends keep dying again and again because they can’t get past something?)

In nMage, paths let you raise your path’s ruling arcana to 5 (which is the hard cap for non-archmasters, meaning that you can learn your path arcana to the maximum possible level).

To raise your common arcana above 4, you need mentorship of a master of that arcana, which usually means a master of the path that has them as ruling arcana. To raise your inferior arcana above 2, you need mentorship of someone who is at a higher level of the arcana and has them at least as common arcana.

Example: An Obrimos mage (Forces/Prime Ruling, Death Inferior) wants to earn mastery of Spirit arcana. Since its’ common for her, she can become an adept of Spirit on her own,but to become a master she needs a tutelage of a Thyrsus master of Spirit.

Meanwhile, if she wants to become a master of Death arcana, she needs tutelage of a non-Obrimos who has higher rating in Death than she (perhaps even that Thyrsus Master,, if he’d be a disciple or adept of Death, which is feasible, because Death is common arcana for the Thyrsus path), but to earn mMastery, she still needs tutelage from a Moros master of Death)

In oMage, mages need tutelage in all of their spheres from a teacher, at least according to rules as written. This means that, without a mentor to teach her, the mage is stuck at the level she is at chargen. 

Of course, those are stupid rules and I’ll say she can learn spheres on her own if she has time to experiment.
