there is a third, growing camp, where people slowly lose interest or stay merely marginally interested in what is happening. then again, if there would be something big happening they would still check on it, and most of them still reblog homestuck. i was really into the comic, but now i guess i mostly like the universe and premise, but in hindsight the execution could be much, much better.
I usually notice a big influx of fandom related activity around 4/20, which is understandable because that is apparently an important date/number to them. There are a few interesting concepts that I'll look up on the wiki and read about if it comes up on my dashboard, but I don't have the time/interest to read the webcomic. I get overwhelmed very easily by things with a lot of content (like Fallout or Skyrim) that are fun, but when there's so much symbolism and stuff there, I get scared and run away.
