Okay, so idk if you're even going to see this, but how would you desribe virgil's relationship/opinions with/on the witch-hunters?
I'm curious because not many people talk about their relationships (which sucks cuz yk he's probably more important now since he's closer with Jericho)
Omg that's such a fun ask I love this. EOM spoilers for the last episode because I'll be exclusively talking about the witch hunters post metamorphosis. Also. well. bdw spoilers obviously but not major ones.
I think the most interesting dynamic is between Virgil and Lethica. Those who watched bdw know that Stryga and the Raven Queen are more aligned than not, the question is what's Virgil's current religious state... currently he's very set on his identity as a demon and I don't know if that's conflicting with his faith. Even if it is, I don't doubt that he very much respects the Raven Queen for what she's done for him and Avantris (and what I suspect she will do...) and stands on her side in the death domain wars. Obviously he's on Stryga's side as well so he and Lethica are very aligned in this area! She's also very intelligent, has poise and tact, she's nice to Jericho, I really think her and Virgil have a potential of becoming good friends!!!!
When it comes to Briggsy. Well. Virgil commented on his stupidity once or twice. I really don't think they're on a path to becoming the bestest of friends. What's more interesting here is yet again the shadowfell conflict. Briggsy is a warlock of Mr Crossroads and Mr Crossroads' goal is surpassing Baron Samedi. Baron Samedi, as mentioned in prime, dislikes the Raven Queen. Where does that put Crossroads? Who fucking knows, we shall see perhaps. Whatever will happen in this area will most definitely influence Virgil's and Briggsy's dynamic, again I think what's stronger here is that Virgil doesn't really like Briggsy's lack of knowledge (he doesn't even know what the primes are! come on boy!) and is probably more keen to using him rather than becoming friends with him. But I have high hopes nonetheless because I believe in the power of friendship <33
Oh boy. Here comes Marius. I talked about this like a whole year ago and I don't think I'll be able to find the post but a good summary of Virgil's and Marius' dynamic was posted by @mariusrenathyrs-crashout when it said that Virgil's playing 4D chess all the time while Marius thinks he's playing 4D chess, but he's just playing regular chess and losing. Marius has A LOT of hubris (not his fault but still) as of now and in the last episode he very quickly became a Virgil fanboy. Sure. Go ahead. He could be more tactful about it honestly. Here I'm more worried about Marius abandoning Jericho and preferring Virgil to the point where Jericho becomes very hurt. I believe that Jericho and Virgil are on such a good path to becoming an amazing unit where none of them feel trapped or hurt, where they're not fighting for control over the body... but I think Marius might just activate Jericho's envy... Generally Marius is fucked and while I don't think Virgil will be as good of friends with him as with Lethica, maybe he's at least open to helping Marius... hey bdw watchers, remember that scene with Virgil and Caprice post arc 2? yeah.
Again, I believe in the power of friendship. I said it before in the Virgil Jericho meta 4th wall thread, but Virgil might just be the only Avantris character who got fate touched a second time. He didn't hit it off well with the bdw party for. So many reasons. But! I mean Briggsy said it first! The eom party is a gang of freaks! Marius is a vampire! Briggsy is a rotting crocodile pirate! Lethica doesn't wear underwear!!!!! Jericho is a scarecrow with a demon inside him and Virgil is the demon. Oh he's so focused on his demonic nature. Did I mention crows symbolize adaptability. In other words, I think that this is Virgil's chance of having friends AND HE SHALL HAVE THEM BECAUSE I SAID SO !!! My gods we got such a fun moment in the last episode!!! Coming back to Briggsy, Virgil maybe doesn't like him that much but he said "LET HIM COOK" !!!!!! I really truly hope that this time, this second fate touched time, Virgil will finally have besties. More than I headcanon him having in bdw.
I know inner party conflicts are fun and quite honestly more possible. But god dammit, Druskenvald has so many horrors in store for these 5, it will get so much worse. And let's be honest the party managed to fuck up SO many situations so far, they could really benefit from liking and trusting each other (oooh never trust a demonnn SHUSH YOU!!!!!) and that is my hope for the new season! you decide how realistic it is lol ;p
If it concerned any other character I'd say "I hope everything gets worse I hope they argue" but I care so much for Virgil and Jericho and while I love tragic endings, by the gods they have suffered ENOUGH. Michael ironing dm wild thing advantris gilder please do not doom them further. After Virgil being scary and for so many people unlikable in bdw, there's more potential in him being friendlier to the eom party than not. There. Sorry this is long.
