The advantages and disadvantages of a DIY approach to your music
are I'm sure most of you know the concept of DIY, in the sense of "do it yourself" and how many bands are purely to "do it yourself" is based. Some people will swear their lives, the concept and others, not so much. Here is a breakdown of some of the things that a handyman includes access to the music often: • Write your own music • Play your own songs • care of your finances • booking your own concerts • Find your band members • Manage your own band • publishing your own band • create your own songs • Generally, you take your own songs with their own equipment • Basically everything yourself, make a record label that otherwise do • Sticking to the ManSound pretty hard, right? Well, welcome to the world of how many musicians get started at least. It sounds extremely challenging, but it could all worth it when you are ready in all the effort and if you set the level of the organization have. The big advantage of the concept of DIY is that you complete and total control over how to get your band looks, sounds, and how your audience sees, in contrast, as if brought in a band or a label producer, the producer may and are completely butcher the artist's "vision" of the song or it just needs to suck in general. There are an unlimited amount of creative freedom in the DIY-method.If one of your strengths in finance / investment, then DIY is probably right for you. In DIY, you have complete authority over everything you invest your money in and you have the freedom to keep a close Clock on what your money situation looks like. There are a countless number of musicians that have bolted from their managers and accountants - take Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, for example. The artist management company that he had rented or misused $ 10,000,000 of his money. And for 20% of the profits Mr. Reznor pay again for their services, not an unusual toll of artists profits were taken. If you work for yourself and not someone working for you, keep all the profits, but unfortunately not all of us have the marketing or management experience (especially at a young age), brings us the disadvantages of the DIY method. One of the main disadvantages of using the DIY approach is that not all of us were born with amazing marketing / management skills and a phenomenal instinct with the principles of persuasion. Just as musicians have tent on the right side of the brain more than the left movement, so that we gifted creativity, but screwed in areas such as logic and rationality. The DIY approach is not such a good idea for many of us simply because it requires so much organization and planning, all rely on the still developing brain of yours, as I said, you should technically be able keep all the profits, but one or a few people who for so many things at once, especially if you do not have the skills that you do not even earn enough income to compensate for what you have done with just rent somebody. There course, always cried the terrible question that is common in many musicians money. Money is something that must be reached before the approach of the DIY method, has started because so many things I ball above points must be made in equipment and resources to look and sound like a professional or just your name in the world. Money is especially critical to the process of the public because it is a combination of money and brains, what's going on, your name out into the real world. This is the most important part of the business aspect of music because when people see your talent and your name, then it becomes easier and easier (pull as well as record labels, if you're sick of all this DIY are things and their money) an audience. "How else would anyone want to start in the music industry?" I hear you cry! That's the problem, my friends - for the average musician, there are not many other options. In reality, either you have many connections and pre-discovered talent somehow, or that you are willing to work off your butt and earn sufficient amounts of money to essentially make your own record label. Of course, if these connections and what's not, go for it! "Sell out! But I think it's safe to say that most of us work off our butt, which is not uncommon. Most of the music you hear today comes from hard working people who started out with little or no money, but they knew what they had to do and they did. I will go to more but because I have you to form your own opinion, but I will say it is a normal and reasonable thing to start your career with a DIY approach and let others see you and develop your career in a complex business structure. Money can be a problem for many of us are, but as always, a willingness to work hard and put in relentless efforts can compensate for this.
