Virtual Stable Diaries - Pilot House
On Friday at Gulfstream Park, PILOT HOUSE is entered in the featured race, a juvenile allowance at a mile on dirt. I placed Pilot House into my Virtual Stable after the Nashua Stakes, where he mixed it up near the front after an imperfect start (lost footing per the chart) but was simply outclassed by MOHAYMEN.
Here are his TimeformUS PPs coming into tomorrow’s race:
Things didn’t go so great at the start of the debut win either which was partly to blame for the sluggish figure earned there. But he showed there that he could run, and he backed it up in the Nashua despite finishing seventh of seven in the field.
I wouldn’t have minded finding him in a spot where he was higher than 4-1 on the morning line, but at least here I suspect we won’t get worse than that.
Without the potential for a bigger payout and with my focus on Tampa’s Saturday card I am not fully handicapping the race. DESTIN may prove tough, but I think Pilot House will be worth a play. Definitely worth watching.
