WEEK 26 Blackhorse Lane Open Studios DAY 5 - Jonet Harley Peters @jonetharley_peters3115 Low relief photo montage: This series was started in March 2020 during the first 'lockdown' of the Covid 19 pandemic. The profusion of Cherry blossom was in direct contrast to the developing and increasing spread of the Virus. The use of Black and the geometry of the Hexagon provided the basic pattern and symmetrical structure for the dark mood of the series. On return to the 'outside' world later this developed into other aspects of the natural world, rain, light and Water. In Dark spring I, some triangles show leafless branches of winter while others have sections of highly manipulated Turkish tile decoration, illustrating leaf and plant forms. These different elements and images alongside delicate blossom petals are laid out in symmetrical patterns.
