So productive.... and then lost
I left school by 3:30 (awesome for me), got home and promptly started doing research and writing my final exam based on standards. Before I knew it, it was 7:30 and that is when it happened. The SCHOOL computer that I have been using (and thought had all the bells and whistles for virus protection) let me know I needed to scan the computer because it caught some Trojan.
Okay, sure. I mean, it is a school computer with all the bells and whistles and blocks me from everything I use - from Youtube to keepvid and various educational sites. So I continue working on my Excel spread sheet.
The computer locks up. I reboot and now gives me the message that everything is locked up based on some "known virus". It asks me to get the update. SURE! wouldn't you think the activation code was already on the school computer. No, I would have to pay $$ to update it. hmmmmm, not likely because as soon as I pay for it, I will be lead to an .exe file which I cannot upload because I am not an administrator.
Now I am having to start over again and am using my dinosaur of a laptop for the weekend. I hope I am not totally screwed since every lesson plan I have on my school computer is locked up to where I can't get to it. I can get over the loss of the last few hours but the lessons took me DAYS to compile. Time to figure out plan C.
I have a love-hate relationship with my computer.
