US officials say the Atlanta rapper came from the UK in 2005 and overstayed after his visa ran out.

They have arrested him and want to deport him back to the U.K. ! He’s supposed to be going to The Grammys on Sunday. Poor bastard.

i’m freaking out so much right now. i submitted my application online almost 2 weeks ago, but i think we paid for the wrong priority service because i was an idiot and chose the wrong options. i’m so scared that he spent like, $2500 for nothing because everything might have to be cancelled or something. i’m just so scared! and it’s 5 am there, so i can’t talk to him either. now i’m wondering if i should just go ahead and request a refund right now or just wait to talk to him. i need to have my stuff sent in by the 19th, and i’m worried that won’t happen and i just messed everything up.

URGENT: Please read if you are living in the states on a visa or trying to come into the country

“All of you who travel back and forth or who have significant others who are planning to come back please be careful and see the following message from my friend who works at the UN. They are now stopping muslims/arabs from coming in and canceling visas. This has happened to more than 50 people in the last couple days:

URGENT / SHARE WIDELY: From a reliable source inside the gov't and based on direct contact I have had with people I personally know who have been banned entry and had visas revoked upon arrival (on valid visa and valid passports) (not to raise alarms or scare anyone, but we need to be aware):

1. If you or someone you know is in the US on a visa from an Arabic-speaking country or a country labeled as having ties to “terrorism”, do NOT to leave the country or they may not be able to get back (even with valid visa). Do not leave until further notice.

2. If your visa is terminated and you or someone you know is threatened with deportation, file an I-589.

3. Please reach out to an international immigration attorney and be aware of your rights and the law. If you know lawyers or people working on this probono, please reach out as we are trying to compile info.

4. If this happens to you or someone you know, message me privately. We need people to come forward and speak to reporters. You will not need to share details with me.

5. If you work for a media outlet get your people to start investigating this.

When media begins to report this I will update this post with professional sources. Please also share any information you have below.

They charged with violating 7A1 of the INA, then forced to buy their own return flight OR be charged with violating the law. They were barred entry for 5 years.“

Visa Update: the last shall be first, and the first shall be last

Finally, I have an update.  An unfortunate, frustrating update, but it’s better than nothing.  The consulate, after nearly two months, finally issued our visas. Alyssa got her’s yesterday morning, which came as a shock to all of us.  Essentially we think the consulate gave in and decided they had sent us running in circles for long enough.  Mine however, seems to have been lost in transit.  It made it from the consulate to the New York shipping facility, but has not made it from there to Pennsylvania since it’s mailing on Friday.  It should have been delivered yesterday.

I spent, literally hours, calling and talking to people with USPS and they are looking for the package now.  They are aware that the contents (my visa and passport, and other papers I sent them), are extremely important and need to be found ASAP.

So for now, we wait.  We continue waiting.  Waiting is hard people.  I have never had to wait for something for so long.  I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for my entire life, but I was always distracted with school, work, activities.  Now that the opportunity has finally presented itself, waiting around with absolutely nothing to do but think about all the things I’m missing out on...well, it’s just really hard.  What’s even more hard is trying to stay calm and collected about it.  There is no point in freaking out or getting worked up about it because I’ve done everything I can do.  We can continue placing blame on whoever we want, but that’s not going to make the waiting stop, it’s only going to make it harder to stay calm and collected.

Right now, the hope is to get out of here by the end of the week.  This is the most knowledge we’ve had in the entire month I’ve been waiting since heading to Chicago.  For once, we can finally say “it’ll just be a few more days,” because finally, it should only be a few more days.
