not related to the vore questionnaire, but what are your thoughts on preds of unconventional composition? like pooltoy/plushie, slime, latex, or even plants?
I assume you mean the rating game, so I wont give this a rating. I'm also gonna take this as an excuse to make a longer post.
I'll address each one on their own, since my opinion does vary between the options given. In general, I'm very open to unusual preds and think it's a neat thing I havent explored a ton on my own yet. I have considered writing for some of these options and an ask like this makes me want to write it more lol
I wont go into nitty gritty details on most squicky topics like digestion, but there will be mentions. The one exception is talking about the prey or their movements being visible through the stomach.
Pooltoy/plushie: so this is an interesting one. I've seen stuff for this mostly separate from vore and it ain't really my thing. That being said, a living toy going and eating smaller prey and being trapped in an inorganic stomach sounds really neat. Imagine a plush with a fluffy fabric belly, or a belly full of cotton sort of fluff? That stuff is divine and I lowkey wish I could bury myself in it. Very much a sensory delight, so I could see it for comforting or protective vore ^-^
Slime: this is one I've thought of a lot more. I think I actually have a story written with a slime pred that I haven't posted yet ^-^' but never mind that. It has tons of potential for oral vore and absorbtion, which are both good. It can be very unassuming pred that is suddenly sticky or trapping the prey so they notice after it's too late. I appreciate that slimes can be transparent to show off their helpless prey and maybe even digestion? >.> Very versatile and one of the best ways to get some same size vore since they can be extra stretchy and shift their shape more logically.
Latex: I initially really didnt know what to do with this.... it's strange and feels like it can overlap a lot with the first one. I'm still not sure what sort of creature is made of latex. However, it did occur to me that a belly made of latex could be quite fun for the pred with an active victim who could be seen stretching the belly around themselves in great detail (the episode where Peirce makes his house haunted in Community comes to mind). This isnt exactly my thing, but I can appreciate the fearplay potential of being able to stretch the belly so far without being able to even maybe escape.
Plant: like slime, I've come to appreciate this one a lot already. If you dig into my blog, you can find some sketches I did for various predatory plant concepts (one, two, three, four, and all of them together). I love the variety of shapes and luring/hunting methods; it's a conceptual buffet! It took a while for me to imagine plants with personality and character, but I'm slowly thinking up all sorts of delightfully active concepts. They feel a lot more mindless, lending themselves more to fatal with digestion, but perhaps the plant spits out whatever prey for being too tough. It could even be a sea anemone/clownfish sort of deal, with a protective plant that "swallows" someone who in turn benefits it. Yes I know they are animals, but that type of symbiotic relationship.
