في دير مار سابا، يُمنع دخول النساء والتفّاح.
يُقال بأن سبب المنع يكمن بالاعتقاد أن النساء والتفاح أساس الخطيئة وسبب خروج سيدنا آدم من الجنّة، ويُقال أيضاً للحرص على تكريس الرهبان أوقاتهم للعبادة دون التعرض لأي شكل من أشكال الرغبة/الشهوة.
In Mar Saba Monastery in Palestine, both women and apples are not allowed inside. Some believe the reason is that women & apples brought sin to the world and got Adam to leave heaven, while others believe that monks should devote their lives to god avoiding all forms of desire.
