This templar mansion built in 1786 is located in Ilm Park in the western bank of Ilm river. A tower had been added to this neo gothic temple Haus in 1816 which served as a meeting place for events, exhibitions and concerts. Many musicians including Franz Liszt performed in this court and it is being said that sometimes Liszt played here all night long since his house was only few meters away from this templar house. The Templerhaus served as the Bauhaus concert hall until it was destroyed in March 1945 during World War II. Only the tower was restored in 1998 which you can see in the picture.
