Vista Higher Learning sucks ass, lmfao.

Literally my french textbook is so wild. There are short videos for each chapter with a set of characters doing things that relate to the chapter while staying in their storyline. Anyways, Sandrine is pretty much the main character. She’s a great cook and wants to be a singer but there’s one catch- she absolutely sucks at singing. The most recent video (7A) contains a scene that occurs after David, Sandrine’s boyfriend, saw Sandrine perform in a musical. 

*in a little cafe owned by Valerie, the mom of one of their friends, David and Valerie are sitting at a table discussing the musical*

V: So what was the show?

D: A musical comedy.

V: Oh! So, how was it?

D: Not bad. The dancers and the orchestra were excellent. 

V: And the singers?

D: Mmmmmm...not bad.

V: And Sandrine?

D: Uh, so-so...To tell the truth, it wasn’t great...that’s the least you can say.

V: Huh?

D: As an actress, she’s not bad. She played her part well, but it’s obvious she doesn’t know how to sing. 

V: You didn’t tell her that, I hope!

D: No, but...I doubt that she can be a famous singer! That is her dream. Do you think it would be better if she knew?

*Suddenly, Sandrine appears from behind the wall*

S: You’ve said enough...

D: Sandrine! I didn’t know you were there!

S: Obviously! It is better that I leave,,,

*She exits and David follows her onto the porch*

D: Sandrine! Wait!

S: To do what?

D: I wish to explain...it’s clear that-

S: Listen, what’s clear is that you know nothing about music and you know nothing about me!

D: Sandrine, I’m sorry to have hurt you, but it’s better that I was honest with you. 

S: About what?

D: Well,,, singing,,,I doubt that it’s your calling.

S: You doubt? Well, me, I’m certain...Certain I never want to see you again! It’s over, David!

D: But Sandrine, listen to me! It’s for your own good that I say this...

S: Oh, that’s enough. You, you listen to me...I am happy that you’re returning to the United States! It’s a shame you’re not leaving tomorrow!
