is it weird that i really like carl as a character just on his own? when i look at his tag 99% of what i see is carl x grace. not just CARL. like come on bro hes like this government dude whos lowkey really smart like he couldn totally be a scientist but he also just wants to have some fun and eat some twizzlersometimes like?? is that not enough for moodboards? semi ironic edits? art of just him? mogais? why does it always have to be attached to grace? i mean theyre a great duo but i feel like carl is a cool enough cuaracter to be appreciated on his own too. feel like i should be seeing it everywhere! idk i might be tweaking

Man. I wonder so much what Carl was up to. Before the Hail Mary, and after. I'm not necessarily a Carl/Grace shipper (though I vibe with it) but I've decided that at least in my mind palace Carl is gay and married. Maybe was married before, maybe after. Maybe someone else from the project, maybe someone entirely unrelated that he struggles with not being able to tell about everything. Especially after they put Grace under, especially after the launch. The big after would be maybe he adopts a little girl. Whether through his own doing or fate, her name is Grace. Bright kid. I get rly sad that so many nonblack artists get scared of making black ocs because they "don't wanna be racist" but trust me with a bit of research and viewing black individuals with personalized style and autonomy, it makes the process easier.

I think ultimately if you are unwilling to force yourself to unlearn racial biases especially antiblackness then I just find your reasoning extremely lame. even my black ocs are from different diasporas besides American only. I just find any excuse upsetting atp because it feels like the fear of being racist or making a caricature overrides wanting to genuinely depict people like myself. it feels like you just avoid blackness all together. please engage in black art more, make more black friends, and please include us, especially in your art.

for example, I'm not japanese or Asian but one of my ocs is Asian(Japanese/Okinawan) + white coded and I get told by both Asian individuals (both east and southeast) + (mixed Asian individuals) that they see themselves or at least enjoy her presence and thank me for just, depicting an Asian character that feels grounded while also giving me tidbits and criticism and I appreciate it so much. it's not hard to make characters outside your culture if you genuinely love different people and the world. please don't box yourself into a self made prison.

A while ago, @starcatboy and I were discussing the concept of Coruscant being entirely climate-controlled and therefore the government being able to make it rain on certain protests or events. Therefore, we wrote in-universe Star Wars political poetry about it, as one does.

When it rains on Coruscant

It never reaches the doors of 500 Republica

When it rains on Coruscant

It bounces off the walls onto the beings below

Who stand in the shadow of the Senate dome

Voices drowned out by artificial thunder

On this shining planet

Even the weather stands at the podium

It makes its agenda known

When it rains on Coruscant

It only rains on some parades

Blasterfire rains across the galaxy

Deaths outnumber the drops of water

And roaring wind cannot silence the screams

Do they hear it in their gilded offices?
