Listen/watch part or all of the news and begin to draw.
It might be helpful to take notes to jog your memory if you are doing the entire segment.
Draw using symbols of what you hear.
Draw as a timeline on a large sheet of paper.
Have different people illustrate a different part.
When you are finished reflect on what you have drawn, are there reoccurring symbols or themes?
This exercise can be taken to the next level by asking the participants to mark with post-its the different attitudes and values which are represented in the news. Are they positive or negative.
