What began as preparing for a TEDx Talk slowly became an uncovering of grief, inherited survival patterns, emotional safety, and the parts of myself I had spent years hiding from. This is not just a reflection about TEDx. It is a reflection about what happens when we begin to truly see ourselves more honestly and the courage it takes to stop abandoning the parts within us that long to feel safe, seen, and whole.
I realised I did not need confidence. I needed safety.

On May 2nd, 2026, I took the TEDxRoxbury stage to deliver "The Money Tree Paradox" — a talk about Boston's urban tree canopy, the 23-year life expectancy gap between Roxbury and Back Bay, and why environmental justice has to be measured in roots and not just rhetoric.
This talk didn't come out of nowhere. It came from four generations of family in Roxbury, years of research with local non-profit, and Evironmental Protection Agency EJScreen data nobody wanted to look at.
Gratitude to every neighbor, planter, and policy advocate who's been doing this work long before there was a stage attached to it.
