Visual Pollution || A Man-made Menace Goes Beyond Aesthetics

Continuous exposure to Visual Pollution is believed to cause lack of sleep, mental irritability and psychological disturbances in children as well as adults. Tall structures, light emitted from them create hindrances in the navigation path of birds and disturbs nocturnal creatures.

Visual pollution is defined as the introduction of unsightly elements that interfere, clutter or intrude upon a beautiful vista. These elements include natural factors like smoke emitted from forest fires or windblown dust as well as man-made factors such as billboards, mobile towers, power lines, antennas, smog, fumes, garbage dumps etc.
