“A magazine at the apex of content culture.”
One of my favorite sections from Maggie Nelson's The Art of Cruelty (2011) - "They're Only Dolls" page 95 - 98
In light of what’s going on with the controversy that’s taking place, I’m opening my asks and messages to anyone and everyone that wants to talk about race and gender, and how that bleeds into the Twilight saga.
I am a latinamerican woman and I’m a scholar specializing in visual culture, so I can bring to the table how we have created certain discourses around race, gender and class through visual content.
Let’s have a talk, let’s see the different perspectives surrounding the many problems the saga has in terms of representation and, above all, let’s all learn from each other. My communication channels are open and I would love to share with everyone what I know, give some reading suggestions on the topics I know about, and learn from all of you too.
A silent video that conveys a thought or a feeling.
解構藝術之路。
Chad Wys
I want to cultivate my understanding of things.. particulary visual phenomena. Can anyone recommend me some interesting books or websites on visual theory?
“We are so accustomed to being addressed by these images; their power already seems so familiar, as if they had always been there. When the reality is that they have just arrived”.
-Guy Debord, Society of the Spectacle
