kwon jihoon, better known as nox. aged 21 years old, though nox doesn’t much celebrate the day of his birth. he spends his days traveling in a converted van- a bed, a small stove for cooking, a small sink. he gets his waters from creeks and rivers that he comes across, filtering it before storing it for drinking. showers are taken at camp grounds or he does a light wash in the rivers (without soap obviously, so it’s mostly just a quick rinse). his travels often spur scenes in the mystery romance novels he writes, nox using the scenery, the stories he hears, the people he meets as inspiration (with their permission).
for money (other than book royalties), he donates sperm and works as a mechanic. he’s not a great one, but he does what he can while working with small local shops that always need an extra hand. it doesn’t pay alot, but he doesn’t need alot- just enough to buy food to keep his cupboards stocked, to pay for gas and car insurance, and for laundry mats to wash his clothes.
though he was christian from birth, after leaving his parents house nox chose his own path. it was easy to fall into paganism, with the moon lighting his way and the stars calling his name. his friends jokingly called him a moon witch, since he did his best writing under the full moon. he often slept while the sun was high when he had no reasons to get up and spend his nights typing away on his laptop as nature came to life around him. when the weather was nice, he slept with his van doors opened, waking and falling asleep to whatever scene he was currently overlooking. his favorite places are small out of the way spots where you could pretend you were the last person on earth.
the only time he didn’t live in the van is when the weather is too dangerous to be out in. tornados, monsoons, hail. weather below zero or blizzards. but even cold temperatures he’ll tough out thanks to the vans heating and alot of thick blankets.
