This leather and suede jacket is a creation of Takahiro Miyashita for his label The Soloist.

The piece is all in contrasts, from the materials used to the cut and the details. By using leather circled with suede the designer amplifies the fit, by sewing a martingale in the back he reminds us of vintage motorcyclist jackets that were equipped with half-belt or buttoned closing tabs.

Takahiro Myashita created the first pieces for his label The Soloist in 2009 after quitting the avant-garde label Number (N)ine he founded in the purpose of being the only one in command and to develop his aesthetic inspired by Rock’N Roll musicians and vintage pieces from the U.S.

This pants in cotton, silk and linen is a creation of Takahiro Miyashita for his label The Soloist.

Cut in an off-white fabric with a chalk stripes pattern the piece is adorned with off-white bands that demarcate the sewing lines, the knees as a reminder of work pants, and have a decorative purpose on the thighs and back.

This jacket in cotton and polyester is a creation of Takahiro Miyashita for his label The Soloist.

Drawing his inspiration from western shirt the designer created a jacket with a kimono cut. He associated the two patch pockets and the three buttons closing on sleeves to a front opening with a white cotton central belt. The association of the blut tint and the white buttons is a clear reference to western shirts, pieces that get their name from the people wearing them in the U.S. and closely related to the cow-boy figure.

For sale : Comme Des Garçons AD1994

This jacket in wool and polyester was designed by Rei Kawakubo for Comme Des Garçons collection in 1994.

The inspiration for this piece is of course the traditional masculine evening wear reread with a very particular cut. The stitching lines on either side of the front, below the four buttons closing, form the ends of the gathers that adorn the back making this piece stand out in every outfit.

This polyester sweater was designed by Issey Miyake for his menswear collection. 

The play on transparency associated with the bichrome design give the piece a perfect balance. Tthe way the designer worked on polyester with an alveolus design is unique while not being blindingly obvious.

For sale : Undercoverism by Undercover Laboratories.

This jacket made of a leather vest and a wool, nylon and polyester sweater, was designed for Undercoverism, one of the line created by Jun Takahashi under the Undercover label.

Founded by Jun Takahashi in 1994, Undercover is one the best known label from Japan regarding streetwear, it received the blessing of Nigo, pope of streetwear and hip-hop culture in the archipelago since the end of the 1980′s, while in its cradle.

Its distribution outside Japan is more or less equal to nothing and it quickly  began an object of fascination around the world.

For sale : Ganryu

This jacket in nylon was designed by Fumito Ganryu for his eponymous label in 2013.

The bands of various blue tints on the front structure what seems to be the image of an abstract seascape while the collar, back and sleeves in a pattern similar to formal shirt ones remind us of fun shirts tradition applied to a trainer jacket cut.

Fumito Ganryu started as a patternmaker for Jynya Watanabe at Comme Des Garçons and then founded his brand in 2008 under the wing of his employer. He chose to take a different approach on clothing by getting rid of the “all black” policy, signature of Comme Des Garçons. The label ended when his founder decided to quit CDG in 2017.
