Visualization Center C is a meeting place around visualization in the middle of the Industrial Landscape in Norrköping. The centre is a collaborative project between Linköping University, Norrköping Municipality, and RISE Interactive C-Studio. The centre was designed by ÅWL Arkitekter and inaugurated on 27 May 2010 by Carl XVI Gustaf.
The science centre is visited annually by around 100,000 visitors. The centre houses interactive exhibitions, a Dom (dome-shaped cinema for 3D films and screenings in 360°), conference rooms, Virtual Reality arena, restaurant and shop. The primary goal is to increase interest in science subjects and technology in children and adolescents. Each year, the center receives about 10,000 schoolchildren. The science centre is run by the municipally owned company Norrköping Visualisering AB.
It was visualization research at Linköping University that started the centre in 2000. The starting point is in the world-class visualization research conducted at Linköping University, Campus Norrköping.
