@hollownero ! honestly?? despite not having talked that much? i adore them so much, they put so much feeling into their writing that you yourself feel the emotion & i just find that so powerful. they accepted me so easy despite my own doubts that i wouldnt be liked by them while i was looking around the fandom on kyrie ( i need to go back to that fucking blog, anywho ), Az’s nero & dante is amazing & im excited for all the interacts soon to come !

   ❝maybe start with a wow dante, you’re such a legendary party thrower who tips demons instead of some poor farmer’s cows.❞ whatever could he have possibly hoped for when he invited vitale out for a night of drunken fun? maybe a smile or a laugh– anything that didn’t make v look downright miserable and fed up with life. but he and dante are not alike in the slightest and where dante finds fun in his own reckless sports, v doesn’t seem to share the amusement and the older male loses the smile rather quickly. ❝i don’t expect you to understand my sense of humor since you clearly lack one of your own, but cheer up! we’re not dead.. why not celebrate and smile at least for that reason alone?❞

 A hand holds V by the hair in a tight grip, his head slightly yanked backwards, the sword pressed against his throat.

 “All of you.”

 The way he speaks sounds almost like an apology. And a part of him is full of sorrow from what he is about to do. He tore himself apart to get rid of everything V encompassed in him, and now he was taking it back, robbing of life a man that had just discovered it.

There was no honor in killing the weak. There was no victory in besting the frail. But, Vergil was fearful. He was afraid that without reclaiming all of himself, he would grow weaker, himself.

The thought was a terrifying and a persistent one.

A sacrifice was in order.

The familiars lie in the glistening swirls of ashes, they will take time to recover, but it is unwise to wait.

“I am sorry.”

More than you know.

It will bring him little comfort, Vergil is certain. But, given V’s naivety, the hybrid tells himself that he is doing them both a favor.

Blood gushes from the open wound, spraying them both crimson.

He catches V’s body in the fall. It is falling apart, but Vergil still does his best to lower him onto the ground with some care.

Meta on Dante's mental state (i.e when he stops being all happy go lucky)

HEADCANON 106.  he’s not great chief.  in various headcanon’s and meta’s of mine i’ve talked about how down he really gets when his facade kinda takes a tumble.  but going into his mental state is something else entirely.

at the start at least with his deadname and the secondary name being used on him he slowly started to disconnect with that person,  disconnect from that mindset   –  the one that had been placed upon him.  he still was dante but he was also davina or lilith to a majority of those who he had lived with.  he had a different persona of sorts,  different facades for each person that he was  ;  tony being one later.

something to note with dante is that after dmc1 he’s like  . .   alone.  seriously alone.  in the ten years of thinking his brother was dead after the death of his mother it was just him going from family to family,  house to house.  he’s literally miserable and stays miserable except for some highs throughout his life.  the kid’s got ptsd and depression from a young age which has him lash out often when people refuse to give him space.

as time passed and the more disconnected and slowly alienated especially the more and more he goes on jobs.  the more he tears devil’s down.  he realizes that he’s enjoying doing this,  at least tearing down demons   —   he’s partially on top of the food chain here.  the devil part of him that he’s got under control most of the time is something he struggles with.  his humanity is something he focuses on,  something he   loves   but there are times he feels so alone.

there was once a time he had a crisis over just how different he was from humanity that he held a drive to protect   –  that   maybe   vergil had the right idea in finding no point to settle in humanity and just achieve higher goals.  but he comes down quickly to tell himself that just because he felt alienated that doesn’t mean he has to fully push himself away from humanity and lock that part of me away and find it useless.

anyway    —   with the timeline of the games,  novel and anime show that dante isn’t that well put together.  that it kinda seems that he’s holding on by a thread,  that tony and dante were essentially human vs devil sides in his mind until that no longer became the case,  that holding humanity was what he cherished more than most things.  there can still sometimes be a disconnect there   –   due to him being a little unstable.  he copes the best he can,  sometimes in ways that could kill a normal human being   (   i.e the amount he drinks   )    and takes it in stride.

dealing with him when he’s  “  snapped  “  or in a sort of rage is when a true devil comes out  ;  it doesn’t hold a name for it is the darkest depths of dante himself.  there’s no tony anymore,  no davina or lilith   –   just dante  –  and the utterly devilish part of him is the most dangerous.  off the handle and not holding back can be a mess of claws,  ferocious hacks or something impossible to avoid.  it’s rare that he’ll snap like that but   . .   it can happen   —  happened more so after dmc1 after his thought of killing vergil but more or less ended when he settled down prior to dmc4.

i wouldn’t say dante has DID or anything like that by just staring at the novel but,  like,  he deciphers tony being him at his most  “  human  “  while dante is him at his most  “  devilish  “  in a way   –   but now its interlaced with him being dante completely after having a roller coaster of a crisis of who he is or what he wants to be.

The clapping noise that interrupted his concentration made Yuuri fumble - nearly slipping and falling onto the ice. It was only sheer luck that kept him balanced. “A-ah! H-how long h-have you been there?“ Yuuri could feel his heart start to race in panic-- oh god, did they see how much he screwed up?!

And here we go to yet another muse that had a pretty short life; Katsuki Yuuri, from Yuri on Ice. I do relate a lot to this guy though on a personal level, and I admire this muse a lot ;; w ;; and of course,  I still have access to his blog LOOOL!!
