haneul couldn’t believe it, they had promoted their song for a week and they were only promoting the song for two weeks -- he looked at his other members, wondering what they were feeling right now? was this as shocking to them as it was to him? glancing over at them he noticed simon’s expression-- he was as tense as he was for sure but what was to be of them if they won or got second place? if they won -- would they be considered monster rookies? if they got second would they be considered a disappointment to gold star? and what would happen to them then. there were so many thoughts lingering around in his head as the announcement of points was listed-- it didn’t register with him that they were getting the majority of the votes either -- not until the mc’s said...
“ let us see the results… ”
it couldn’t be them could it? it shouldn’t be! they had only made their debut a week ago, was it even possible?

his eyes widened upon hearing the two words he didn’t think were possible -- while all the eyes in the audience were on them, he stood there baffled -- his mouth open in surprise as he turn to his members, hearing siwoo’s confusion of confirmation and then the realization hits them both at the same time, ‘ we won... ’ he thought as his eyes turned into crescents. this feeling inside was excitement -- he listened to the other members talk, nodding along while watching the confetti fall from the ceiling.
then the microphone was passed onto him, his eyes sparkled as he opened his mouth, “ first i’d like to thank everyone that has been supporting us since hot topick-- without you we couldn’t be here. thank you… ” pausing for a moment, collecting his thoughts -- someone would thank gold star entertainment’s ceo right? he didn’t have to do it? “ thank you mom and dad for supporting me-- manager hyung and we will continue to be idols you can be proud of. thank you everyone!”
passing the microphone to the next member, he looked at the crowd of people -- all of their eyes were on them and some were even crying.
after everyone had said their peace-- the mc’s closed the show and then the intro to crown started playing it was time for their encore stage. haneul made sure to bow to every artist that was on stage with them, they all worked hard for their performances and songs -- he was sure of that but they were the ones that won this week.
having that thought in his head he couldn’t help but smile proudly of himself.
