Formed at the beginning of 2021 and debuting on the 19th of April the same year, Vive are Gold Star’s newest boy group. Following in the footsteps of groups such as Origin and Impulse, Vive have already begun to mark their place within the company. With their debut album selling well and their songs charting, Vive are starting to prove they are a group not to be messed with. But what else can you expect when you’re formed through a survival show? Though the group are still surrounded by controversy, they are trying to move past Hot Topic(k) and showcase their refreshing and new sound. With the members having such a close bond, it’s hard to believe that they are only a temporary group.
one activity that duri really enjoys doing is biking around han river. it was something that was a bit random, but it was always something that was nice. having the breeze rushing against you as you biked around, it always made it more enjoyable, especially on warmer days. not to mention, it was rather nice lower body workout when you didn’t feel like going to a gym to do your lower body workouts, which to be quite honest - duri wasn’t in the mood to do that today.
biking around the han river was always more fun when you didn’t do it alone. his call must have been heard from higher above, however, when he ran into someone. this time being vive’s simon, whom he can remember from hot topic(k), where duri had been a vocal mentor for an episode - that was a really enjoyable time for duri, to say the least. but, he was excited to have run into the other. he could only hope that they other would like to partake in biking around han river.
“simon!” he said, beaming a bit more, a giggle leaving his lips. “ah, i was wondering. would you like to bike around han river with me? i’ll pay for the rent on your bike as well, don’t worry!” he said, nodding his head. “we can also go for a treat after we’re done biking! you can have whatever you want, since you worked so hard during your debut!” he added on, giggling happily some more.
After having made a successful debut with Crown and gaining their first win after only their second week of promotions, Vive are back again with not only a new sound but also a new look. Their newest mini album The Dream Chapter: Magic showcases the talent and range of Gold Star’s newest group. Through the album, fans are able to receive one random student ID and photocard.

For reasons Chunhwa can’t even begin to understand, Dimensions gets her a slot to be a special mc for Inkigayo for one week during their promotions. She’s never done this before, is not usually the one invited for that sort of thing, and she’s pretty sure, as she rehearses what she’s supposed to say, that she’s gonna fumble her bag pretty badly. Chunhwa is not looking forward to checking social media lately and seeing the jokes people are inevitably going to make, or the complaints that are going to come up over her being the chosen one for this gig, rather than one of the girls with a more solid solo fanbase. It’s almost as if Dimensions wants her to be hated.
Right now, though, Chunhwa isn’t in mc mode. Instead, she has her make up partially done and her hair ready, only waiting to change into today’s stage’s outfit so she can go with the rest of Lucid record their performance. She’s hungry though, as she had to arrive early and barely had any time to eat, so she drops by at the cafeteria to get a sandwich. Yet Chunhwa is met with more frustration when she realizes the options without meat are already gone and she pouts, turning to the person standing next to her. “You didn’t happen to have gotten one of the egg sandwiches, did you?”

haneul couldn’t believe it, they had promoted their song for a week and they were only promoting the song for two weeks -- he looked at his other members, wondering what they were feeling right now? was this as shocking to them as it was to him? glancing over at them he noticed simon’s expression-- he was as tense as he was for sure but what was to be of them if they won or got second place? if they won -- would they be considered monster rookies? if they got second would they be considered a disappointment to gold star? and what would happen to them then. there were so many thoughts lingering around in his head as the announcement of points was listed-- it didn’t register with him that they were getting the majority of the votes either -- not until the mc’s said...
“ let us see the results… ”
it couldn’t be them could it? it shouldn’t be! they had only made their debut a week ago, was it even possible?
“ congratulations, V I V E . ”
his eyes widened upon hearing the two words he didn’t think were possible -- while all the eyes in the audience were on them, he stood there baffled -- his mouth open in surprise as he turn to his members, hearing siwoo’s confusion of confirmation and then the realization hits them both at the same time, ‘ we won... ’ he thought as his eyes turned into crescents. this feeling inside was excitement -- he listened to the other members talk, nodding along while watching the confetti fall from the ceiling.
then the microphone was passed onto him, his eyes sparkled as he opened his mouth, “ first i’d like to thank everyone that has been supporting us since hot topick-- without you we couldn’t be here. thank you… ” pausing for a moment, collecting his thoughts -- someone would thank gold star entertainment’s ceo right? he didn’t have to do it? “ thank you mom and dad for supporting me-- manager hyung and we will continue to be idols you can be proud of. thank you everyone!”
passing the microphone to the next member, he looked at the crowd of people -- all of their eyes were on them and some were even crying.
after everyone had said their peace-- the mc’s closed the show and then the intro to crown started playing it was time for their encore stage. haneul made sure to bow to every artist that was on stage with them, they all worked hard for their performances and songs -- he was sure of that but they were the ones that won this week.
having that thought in his head he couldn’t help but smile proudly of himself.
