Ten Years Later...
Vivvienne sat down on her bed and looked around as she pulled out a secret diary from under her mattress. It wasn’t often that she remembered to put down her thoughts but when the moment struck her, she rushed to put quill to paper.
Journal, I write here to put down all the pride and joy that I feel from my children’s accomplishments. Trystan has become a strong and humble young man and though I dislike it...very very much he’s becoming a fine candidate for a good and honest Knight. I’m only hoping that he doesn’t become a zealot like many that I’ve run into. Zephenaye is becoming a very creative and talented mage, thinking of applications for the Arcane that I wouldn’t have thought of in my own youth. I see myself in her sometimes, what was very long ago. These two are sparkling diamonds in society and they have more social grace than either myself or their father have, I would say, combined. They dazzle and gleam, but...I worry about Bael. I’ve always worried about my little boy. He’s got even less social ability than his father and much more tender hearted. His tutors say that he is a bright young man, this I don’t need to be told, but his attention seems to be lacking during his lessons. He slacks off and doesn’t return any of the work that his professors ask for and yet….he tells me that he is off studying from his tomes. I don’t know where he goes during this time, but I want to trust him that it’s not doing anything out of line with how he was raised.
Trystan and Zephenaye know where he goes, I know, but to betray Bael’s trust would...I don’t need to put it to paper to know.
I am about to attend one of Trystan’s sparring sessions, so I must be fast. Until next time, dear journal.
Forgot to post this. One of the last lingering sketches from the charity stream.
This one is for @monster-pirate of her lovely vivv
A New Scent
A gust of wind lifted leaves through the air, tumbling like boulders as they curled in on themselves and ending their journey at a certain warlock's feet. That same gust had brought the stagnant air around the woman to life, and like churning a still pond it rolled what had laid forgotten on the bottom straight to the top. A scent made Vivvienne's nostrils flare. An odd mix of her floral perfume and the ever growing taint of her craft.
Vivvienne had always taken pride in how she kept herself, that she had presented herself neatly and projected an inviting image no matter what kind of trade she practiced. Now though...now it seemed wretched, wrong. The two smells intertwined were like spring flowers enveloping a carcass. No matter how beautiful the flowers, they would never outshine the horror that lay below.
With a small snarl in her lip, she turned from the task at hand and set in her mind a private outing, an errand. As soon as she was able she summoned her hippogryph with a singular location in mind. An apothecary, known for its scents.
As soon as she had touched down, Vivvienne adopted an air of nobility and propriety, choosing the Grand Arcanist as a model. She didn't want to get shortchanged for some piss in a bottle. Not for something this important to her.
"Good evening my lady, what fine things may I show you today?" The shopkeep hissed in his guttural, undead voice as his yellow eyes followed the warlock gliding through the room. Her hands were folded provincially in front of her stomach and her own eyes floated over the various bottles and vials, some still bubbling over flames.
"I am seeking a perfume. Something...strong and low...earthy perhaps."
The undead peered at her, nodding eagerly and ready to make a fine cache of gold based on the woman's robes.
"Yes. Yeeesss. Here I have something just for you, my lady. It will match your very presence in my shop. I believe that it was made only for you."
Vivvienne couldn't help the small twinge of a grin that formed when the shopkeep hissed out 'my lady'. She would love to get used to this sort of treatment.
She unfolded her hands to accept a small vial, no bigger than an apple, that the apothecary had handed to her. Unstopping the bottle, she wafted the perfume towards her nose and took a moment to appreciate the bouquet.
Notes of a dark wine, oak and tobacco filled her senses. Something else tingled at the edge of her mind, but she was unable to place it's strange aroma. The undead noticed the small smile blooming underneath her hand and pressed forward with a small hobble.
"You ssseee? Jusst for you, my lady. I will even give you a fair price. Fair priccce for the true owner of this scent."
"How much?" Her eyes never so much as gazed upon his face.
"Five gold. Tis a pittance for such a lovely smell."
She fought the urge to roll her eyes at his insistence and instead stoppered the bottle once more and reached into a hidden pocket and palmed a handful of gold, dropping it into the undead's waiting hands. He gurgled and bowed his head, thankful for the extra until Vivvienne placed her hand over his two and spoke quietly.
"The true owner of this perfume requests only one thing: that you never sell this particular scent to anyone else. Only to me. Do this and you'll have a patron for life." She took a moment, looking into his glowing eyes with her own. She wanted to test something. "Don't and you will find yourself to be a new ingredient in one of your bottles."
If his eyelids were still present, his gaze would have grown wider before he bowed his face to the ground and bent even lower. Without another word, Vivvienne spirited away from the small cottage in the woods, satisfied with her purchase.
What happens next.
The sounds of marching boots and miscellaneous sounds of military camp life, both sounds of merry making and anxiety streamed into Vivvienne’s corner of the infirmary. It was much better than the silence punctuated by moans and the few verses of bawdy songs were welcome to her ears while she stared up at the plain ceiling fighting off thoughts of mortality.
The warlock flexed her arm, feeling the intravenous needle wiggle within her vein. She hadn’t left this bed for a good day and a half and it was already starting to get to her. Still, she was grateful for the Fel Claw’s strong arm that forced her to go, as well as Lirelle’s quick mind. If it weren’t for those two she would still be struggling to keep the world from spinning and keeping food in her belly.
Between the verses of ‘My Lady of Eels’ and low waves of nausea, another thought crept into her mind.
“Is there any possibility that you could be pregnant?”
Lirelle’s last probing question made her mind spin with possibilities. Feelings of joy were followed by fear and terror. If she was with child, how would she fight?

4, 28, 48 for Viv!
4. What is their relationship with their parents? What’s a good and bad memory with them? Did they know both parents?
Vivvienne loved and was very well loved by both of her parents, a mother and father. A good memory with her mother would be when Viv sat next to her and listened to her sing as she did her sewing and embroidery. Her father: Him taking her out to the forest and teaching her about little crawly things and encouraging her to explore. Bad memories with Mom: Being forced to clean her entire home one day because she’d thrown a tantrum in the middle of the village, embarrassing them both. Dad: Having overheard one night that he wished he had a son to teach how to fight. Viv just never was good at physical combat.
28. What is their biggest fear? What in general scares them? How do they act when they’re scared?
Vivvienne’s biggest fear is quiet literally losing agency of her own mind and body, especially to ravages of corruption. It has happened once before and it is not something that she talks about often if at all. If she’s told you about it then she trusts you the most.
Being irrelevant and useless scares her. Tangible fears? Dogs...
Vivvienne usually bottles up her fears until she lashes out verbally. If it is a fight or flight situation, she will fight for her opening to flee.
48.Do they enjoy any parties? If so what kind? Do they organise the party or just turn up? How do they act? What if they didn’t want to go but were dragged along by a friend?
Of course Vivvienne enjoys parties! She loves all sorts of them: balls, quiet get togethers, dance parties, any party you can think of! She loves to let go and unwind!
She would like to organize a few parties but, she mostly just enjoys those that are thrown and she usually tries to be the life of the party and help others interact! She likes to talk to all sorts!
Wouldn’t happen. If she didn’t want to go but a friend really wanted her to, she’d change her tune really quickly and get festive!
A moment from some of my fav warlocks at the suncaster meeting last night. Vivvienne belongs to @monster-pirate and faer is mine. I love these pals.
Full Name: Vivvienne Duskcatcher Other names: Viv, Sha’tiel (once upon a time) Universe They Exist In: World of Warcraft Gender and Sexuality: Straight Female, Possibly bisexual but the jury is out. Ethnicity/Species: Sin’dorei Birthplace and Birthdate: She was born 155 years ago in a little hamlet in the forests of Quel’Thalas. It was destroyed when the scourge came. Guilty Pleasures: Taking baths by herself, swimming, alone time. She knows that she’s got so much other stuff to be doing but it’s time that she gives herself to indulge in the quiet. Phobias: Physical degeneration from Fel usage, FELHUNTERS (kind of) What They Would Be Famous For: She would be famous for her mothering, taking care of her friends and just generally being the mom of the group. She never would have thought that either and secretly that hurts a bit of her pride. What Have They / Would They Gotten Arrested For: Being a vagrant on drugs.
OC You Ship Them With: With @kitzy ‘s Scynthe! They are married and so very in love with each other. Their plan is to stay together until the end of time and they mean that as literally as they can. Your Favorite OC Relationships: I would say....Razail ( @razxion ), Avada ( @emberfallen ) and Basarann ( @rahveth ) are her three musketeers, her Charlie’s angels, her three amigos. She wants to help Razail, learn from Avada and lift up Basarann. They have been some of the first and closest friends that she’s made within the Sunguard and for them she’s grateful. Faervell ( @pyrar ) is a pretty good foil to her ego and I think they’re oddly more alike than they would like, but they’re pretty great warlock buddies! Esme ( @jessipalooza ) is one of the few officers that she has been able to befriend and even though she’s a little resistant some of the time, I think they’re getting along! I enjoy @vaelrin and Viv’s interaction just because it’s so nice to have someone to just annoy the piss out of Viv and Vice versa. Westel ( @westelfirewing ) is also along those lines, but he is much more like a brother who picks on her from time to time. I love the dynamic between Feyrintha ( @she-wants-the-d20 )and Viv as well! She didn’t know what to think of the advances at first but now she feeds on them. Felo’Thore ( @brothersemberfell ) is a new one, but I enjoy the parental bond that she’s able to share with him. Last but not least, Rythaen! ( @azriah ) is just a fun little duo to jab back and forth as well as a fun little crack ship :P
OC Most Likely To Murder Them: PROBABLY @kitzy ‘s Jaymeson if he ever finds out what actually happened to Sev. Favorite Book Genre: Currently it’s the histories and practices of the dark magics. Her favorite leisure reading however would be tasteful romance. Least Favorite Book Cliche: “Flighty” women that don’t know what they want. Talents and/or Powers: She’s got a way with the Fel, for just feeling it out and using it as she sees fit (it works against her however when it comes to more delicate spells). She’s also pretty good at sewing and enchanting little stuffed animals even though she’s barely done it lately. Why Someone Might Love Them: She’s warm and inviting to most, no matter their place in life. She takes care of her friends as much as she knows how and isn’t afraid to show her love towards them. Why Someone Might Hate Them: She can be a little bitter or a bit of a curmudgeon when she doesn’t get her way. She’s got a rapid temper that she isn’t able to hide. How They Change: Vivvienne has gone from a simple mage, looking towards the greatness of Dalaran and plunged head first into the dank basements of Silvermoon and the Fel arts. I would say that the thing that brought her there is her wild temper and her inability to control/recognize her emotions while they’re happening. She’s working on that as well as refining how she deals with magic and once more setting her sights back on the greatness that she could achieve should she practice good form. Why You Love Them: I love her because she’s my oldest baby, the one that I’ve held onto the longest and will always be. She’s got a big heart and it’s in the right place most of the time. I love to watch and write her succeed from pitfall after pitfall to see just how resilient she is despite her circumstances.
Why you Hate Them: She’s so old that she’s fallen into a story hole many times as I’ve grown as a writer and have tried to continue her story. She’s kind of a comfort zone for me and I need to remind myself to not get too comfortable in my writing. As a character she’s a brat. It’s that simple. She’s often self-centered and can be a little manipulative when it comes to getting what she wants.
