lance and hunk get tired of english. they find each other talking in their own languages alone all the time, at first they are a little bit embarassed but then they get all excited comparing both languages. lance teaches hunk spanish and hunk teaches lance samoan, they spend hours talking about words, pronunciation, phrases that they use at home, slag, etc. When they get sad or have a lot of anxiety, the other knows that one of the ways to make them feel better is hearing their mother language. Also knowing that a person learns your main language to feel close to you/comfort you feels so good, makes your heart all warm and i'm not crying u are crying.
One day, when they are practicing, Shiro hears them. At first he just listens but then they see him and invite him to the talk. He's new at this so he doesn't interrump a lot, but they notice that he pays a lot of attention. He's a fast learner and he finally found something to talk about with Lance and Hunk! It's something that he was worried about, so the "teaching lessons" gave him the perfect excuse to get close to them. After a few practices, Shiro starts to open up about his own language, japanese. Of course, its completly different than samoan or spanish, but Lance and Hunk are fascinated by it. While Hunk loves learning how to write it, Lance is more focused in pronunciation. Spanish and japanese are famous for leaving the impresion of being "incredibly fast" for non-speakers, so Shiro and Lance start to make small competitions about it. They start to talk A Lot and Really Fast, a lot of times at the same time. This ends in laughing, after Hunk being like "fuck you guys!!" because he tried to understand, at least, %1 of what they are saying, and it's not fair!! They share everything: foods, traditions, music, stories.
They feel at home again, at least a little bit.
