Tungkol sa Online Plays at E-ntablado 2
KALikha's E-ntablado 2 closes its doors on their line-up of untried, unstaged student-written plays last Sunday and it's become quite sad as it has been the source of another collection of scripts-turned-to-plays festival right after Virgin Labfest 2020's "Kapit"
Which has also closed its doors this July 15 on vimeo after a limited time of viewing.
It's so beautiful to see theater artists and theater enthusiasts fighting and still pushing to create their art form even in the time of quarantine and COVID-19. There was a time when it was doubtful and laughable to understand the idea of an "online play" the idea was so easy to dismiss even for a lot of theater artists in the beginning.
But these festivals have shown that there is still power in it, there is still a unity. In a way, the quarantine that pushed us away from each other has brought us even closer! (Even thru social media and zoom calls.)
There is no stopping artists talaga from doing art. And it doesn't go under appreciated. We, as theater artists, have not come prepared for this pandemic, to be comepletely honest. But we don't rest until we work our butts off to our passion! Infamous Twitter and Facebook posts have tried to shut us out to just "dance and sing for us" and to not speak our voice! But they don't know that we do not do this for people like them...we do this for ourselves! And para sa taumbayan!
We will throw dialogue after dialogue without skipping a line, we will talk and talk and do it until everyone listens. Everyone hears us.
Mabuhay! Para sa bayan. Para sa sining. Mabuhay ang lahat ng theater artists.
