How it began: Bucky is obsessed with all things comics, DC especially. (In this AU, the MCU is like the DCU, lots of great concepts and terrible movies). All their friends work as shitty party versions of the Avengers and hate it, so they really don’t wanna hear about comics outside of work too, and constantly tell Bucky so. Finally, Sam just goes “if you love comics so much, why don’t you start a blog or something on YouTube?” Well…

Who’s Bucky: Bucky is 18 and just recently came out as genderqueer, and wants to show the world who they are, so they don’t really want to look overly masculine, wearing a lot of makeup and “feminine” clothing, like crop tops, skinny jeans, and bright colors.

As they get older, they realize how little their looks affect who they actually are, so the makeup tones down a little, and they start playing around with facial hair, and wear subtler clothes, though their personality never really mellows.

The premise: The vlog follows Bucky through years 18-27 (or so, we’ll see) in how they grow personally, but also, following comics and nerd things they geek out over during that time. The vlog itself is Q&A based, which allows Bucky to talk and explain things that people actually wanna know about… whether it be comics, movies, shows, music, or gender things.

While this show was something that was supposed to allow Bucky to talk about comics, it kinda becomes a safe haven for them and their fans. Things get talked about with no filters and even though that means sometimes things get said (or commented) that shouldn’t, it allows people to be open and honest with themselves and others, and Bucky grows accordingly. They go from someone who plays the part of the social butterfly but deals with anxiety and shyness around new people to someone who is actually confident in themselves.

Their friends begin to realize too, commenting occasionally here and there about how it’s good for them that they’re growing out of their bubble and finding themselves.
