David was heading out for a few hours to try and film some more content for the vlog. You knew he was starting to struggle as everything was starting to open up and ease back to a sense of normality, not that he’d show it on the surface.
The underlying tensions were there as he came back day after day with a heavy sigh and tired eyes with little to no usable footage. He would stay up until the early hours of the morning doing research, trying to make plans but it came to no avail, he wasn’t getting anywhere.
“I’ll see you later, babe.” David calls out as he sticks his head through the door, trying to wear a bright smile despite his eyes struggling to remain open.
Sitting upright in bed, you force a sweet smile. “Don’t be so hard on yourself Dave, it’s okay to take some time to get back into this.” You reason as you rise to your feet, wearing one of his old shirts and joggers as you wrap your arms around him. “Now go shoot some content, I wanna see a vlog.” You chuckle before kissing his cheek, leaving him pouting for more.
Yet, you retreat to bed, and David groans loudly. “Fine,” He admits defeat, running over at full speed toward you and launches himself on top of you.
His lips slam against yours, but his kiss is soft, delicate. “I love you, David.” You mutter into his lips as he pulls away, his face hovering just above yours.
“I love you too, Y/n. Have a good day.” He smiles, kissing you quickly one last time as Zane yells for him through the house.

Standing in the kitchen, you finish up your lunch when you hear your phone buzzing on the counter.
“Shit.” Natalie calls out as she appears with her brows knitted together, Ella and Taylor both appearing too as they wear matching expressions of disapproval.
“Something I miss?” You speak up as you take a sip of your coffee, the girls sharing a look quickly. “What’s happened?” Your playful tone disappears as you reach for your phone, seeing several notifications from Zane.
david got into beef with logan i think he’s pissed we were filming and joking round on my ig story but then david just turned shit got bad fast we’re heading back now. sorry y/n x
A heavy sigh leaves your lips as your thumb hovers over the Instagram icon. “Why does he have to do this.” You shake your head as you click on the app, immediately seeing Zane’s story as one of the first on your feed.
Ella opens her mouth to interject, but Taylor simply shakes her head.
Clicking the video, you watch the first few slides of David merely joking around with Logan. It looks harmless as David is recording something on his camera, but Zane muted the video so all you can go off are David and Logan’s expressions.
As the next slide plays, the sound returns and both David and Logan are yelling at one another. “No, fuck you, dude! Why would you say that?!” David yells aggressively, something you’ve only heard twice since you’ve been together.
“Come on, David. I was just joking.” Logan laughs, but Zane interjects as he holds David back, recording Logan now as he scoffs. “Consider it content for your vlogs, you clearly need it dude.” Logan adds, and Zane’s story abruptly stops, automatically playing someone else’s story.
“Y/n?” Ella speaks up, stepping toward you as you lock your phone and place it in your back pocket. “Look it’s going to be fine, Logan hasn’t tweeted anything or posted about it.” Ella tries to reassure you as Natalie remains glued to her phone, leaving the room as she answers a phone call.
“What is wrong with him,” You bury your head in your hands, unaware of the front door opening and David sheepishly entering. “what could Logan have said to get him that wound up?”
“Hey,” David calls out as he places his camera on the counter, watching as you slowly remove your hands from your face and look directly at him with cold eyes. “can we talk?”
Nodding in response, you walk toward his bedroom whilst Ella wishes him luck as the bedroom door closes behind you.
“About what you saw,” David starts, but you quickly turn on your heels.
“What the fuck happened, Dave?” You blurt out. “You rarely get mad like that, and Logan of all people?” An attempted laugh leaves your lips as you perch on the edge of the bed.
David walks over hesitantly before sitting beside you, keeping his hands in his own lap instead of on yours. “He just showed up out of nowhere in his fucking lambo, what Zane didn’t capture was Logan being rude about the perfume launch, about you, about Charlotte and my content.” David exhales deeply, trying to remain composed as you shift beside him.
“What did he say?” You ask softly, but David shakes his head.
“I don’t want to repeat it, but it was enough to make me mad and with these past few weeks I just couldn’t keep my cool.” David admits as his head hangs low.
“No one said it’d be easy getting back into this, David.” You remind him as you scoot closer, wrapping your arm around his waist, pulling him into your embrace as he buries his face into your chest. “And Logan isn’t worth it, of all people.” You chuckle softly as David begins to smile into you.
“I think Natalie’s on damage control.” David murmurs into your chest as you nod. “I’m sorry I’ve been acting off lately, baby.”
“It’s okay, Dave.” You reassure him as you run your fingers through his hair. “Just don’t shy away from me, I’m always here.”
“I think I take that for granted sometimes, though.” David comments candidly, taking you by surprise. “But I really love and appreciate you, Y/n. Would you be willing to help me film some content later downtown?”
Lifting his head from your chest, David rests his hand on your lap as you nod. “Thank you, Dave. And of course, does it involve me dressing up as a hooker again or a fake proposal with Jason?” You ask, and David laughs playfully.
“You’ll see.” He tells you before kissing you sweetly, just about hearing you mutter in response.
“I was afraid you’d say that.”
