veronica mars rewatch 1x21: a trip to the dentist

• oh look Keith found Duncan

• I do remember Logan having a party and him standing up for Veronica saying something like “if anyone has a problem with Veronica you can leave”

• that whole cold open was yikes (rhyme that with nikes in your head)

• I wonder if Veronica told Weevil to keep Logan away from her or if Weevil decided to do that on his own

• it’s wild the season finale is the next episode and Veronica finds out who killed Lilly when right now no one is even close to figuring out who did it lol

• so at least Meg wanted to help Veronica at that party but also ew at people doing body shots off her

• Keith is probably like “I’ll take my 50k now”. How did he find Duncan anyway?

• aaand he’s not getting paid because Veronica made a deal with Celeste?

• damn Celeste does not seem to give a eff that Duncan is back

• wow ok a lot to take in here. Veronica made out with a bunch of guys at the party while drugged and Madison wrote slut on her car because of it. what pisses me off though is when Veronica told Madison she was drugged, Madison had this shocked look on her face and then was like pshh yeah right. but she probably knows Veronica is telling the truth cause she was probably drugged too!

• so the way Aaron Samuels tells it, Dick is the one that started making out with Veronica

• oh it was probably when they were making out in the bathroom and she gave him the slip to get back to class

veronica mars pilot rewatch random thoughts:

• this pilot is actually really good. it introduces a good amount and it all flows well and we see who the characters are right off the bat.

• always jolts me a little to see Amanda Seyfried in this before she was really famous

• I don’t remember veronica’s mom wanting to leave because she lost her income and status…lol like way to tough it out lady.

• I also like the writing choice of having the the mom leave. it’s a nice change from the stereotypical plot of the dad leaving.

• with everything that’s happened to veronica, it is seriously a wonder she’s not more screwed up. it’s one thing to have your boyfriend dump you and have your friends desert you, but on top of that her best friend is murdered, she’s sexually assaulted and her mom leaves.

• and last but not least, sheriff lamb is still as big of a dick as I remember.

veronica mars rewatch 1x07: the girl next door

• so I know Veronica’s supposed to be like “lower class” but the apartment complex she lives in is actually nice. It has a pool, tables and umbrellas that overlook the ocean, and really nice greenery all around the structure of the apartment. Idk it looks nice lol

• also I don’t really remember this plot about the murdered neighbor

• Jessica Chastain?!

• “Mr. Echolls, I was wondering if I could have a word.”

• oh it just hit Veronica about her mom and Duncan’s dad and why Duncan broke up with her. Ahhhh

• oh god dammit it was the stepfather.

• Ok wait a minute no one died??? Why did I think Sarah died lol

• ok well I was played. I don’t know where I got the idea that someone was murdered but I played myself I guess lol.

• I mean I do like the twist of guessing whether the store guy or the abusive boyfriend killed her (even tho she didn’t die it’s assumed something bad happened to her) but to throw the stepfather in was like hm. ok then.

• anyway I loved the dynamics between Logan and Weevil in this episode. And I completely forgot about the “Veronica and Duncan might be related” plot so. that’s gonna be fun.

• so Logan knows Kendall and Duncan had a thing right?

• if I remember correctly, Veronica helps Duncan escape with his baby, but she pretends she doesn’t know anything. So I’m not sure if their argument/breakup is part of an act or not

• ok yeah I think she’s faking it

• wild how when Lamb comes to arrest Veronica for helping Duncan escape with the baby (like how does he even have proof of that?) Keith just stares at her. Like he thinks she might be involved and is having his doubts about her innocence.

• I really wanna know how Duncan stole the baby from the hospital or wherever and managed to escape the country without being noticed…

• yay Vinny Van Lowe is back lol

• every time Celeste is on screen I get such a visceral reaction

• it’s absolutely insane Veronica is acting so calm and like she doesn’t know anything about Duncan’s disappearance when she in fact does and helped commit a crime. Like that could never be me, I’d be shitting myself.

• Dick is in with the PCHers?? Since when?

• ay Ron Swanson’s wife. Most people know her as Xena, but I never watched that so I know her as Ron Swanson’s wife (can’t remember her name in Parks and Rec).

• Lamb trying to warn the FBI agents about Veronica and they’re like “yeah we’ve interrogated Al Qaeda members we can handle her” LMAO

• no I’m pretty sure it’s that one PCHer thumper that killed Felix and is in with the Fitzpatrick’s

• I’m confused about Wallace and this basketball stuff.

• also how long was he gone? like apparently long enough to start going to a new school in Chicago, but then he just decided to come back to Neptune High? I feel like you can’t do that

• ah ok, Wallace came back because he was part of a hit and run and has a guilty conscience

• holy crap Duncan’s been staying in the apartment next to Veronica’s???

I liked this episode a lot. Veronica and Duncan are very clever in this and literally manage to elude not only Sheriff Lamb (not hard to do) but also the freaking FBI. Like I have to keep reminding myself these characters are 17 years old because most people regardless of any age can’t do that. (I know it’s a TV show, but still).

I’m wondering if Duncan tried to get custody of the baby would he have succeeded? His wealth (well his parents wealth) combined with the letters of child abuse from Meg, possibly would have been in his favor but at the same time, a.) Celeste didn’t want him to be a dad nor her a grandmother, so she probably wouldn’t have helped financially, b.) those letters to CPS from Meg don’t specify that it’s her parents abusing her sister and c.) courts usually favor a mother or woman when it comes to custody. So I understand why he wanted to run away but as a single dad on the run, he isnt going to last long, unless I’m missing something and Astrid decided to run away with him?

The confrontation with Keith and Veronica was so upsetting and uncomfortable to watch. Veronica is his life and if anything happened to her, his life would be over. That being said, I love every scene (and I mean every scene) between those two. They absolutely nail the father daughter relationship. And despite Keith no longer trusting his daughter, I still remember their relationship between them being generally good?

veronica mars rewatch 2x03: cheatty cheatty bang bang

• hey it’s that famous comedian. I’m blanking on his name but he’s in that episode of friends where he plays the stoned chef who comes to Monica’s apartment

• “The rich get richer and everyone else hopes for scholarships.”

• “The sheriff wants to ask you some questions.”

“My answer was final. I will not go to prom with him.”

god I feel so sorry for the people who don’t like Veronica. what sad lives they must lead.

• oh I thought it was a random guy who died but it’s a guy she saw at the bus crash memorial

• I love Keith and Veronica’s relationship. He can tell when something’s wrong, he knows she’s lying when she brushes it off and lies about it, but doesn’t force her to tell him.

• Which can be a good and bad thing in my eyes lol. In this case it’s bad cause I think he should know her name was found on a dead person

• either Kendall is cheating on her husband with multiple people and not just Logan orrr she’s doing some other sketchy stuff

• I know this is probably wrong but why was my first instinct to think this guy was hired as a hitman by Aaron Echolls to kill Veronica?

• the thing is neither Logan or Duncan are in the wrong. Logan is hurt because Duncan wasn’t there for him when he was accused of murder, but Duncan was also reeling from finding out Logan’s dad killed his sister. It’s like they both needed support in different ways and they couldn’t give it to each other.

• yeah Jackie seems to be too much for Wallace. Like I truly can’t remember anything that happened between them, I didnt even remember them dating lol but I don’t like her with him.

• so I’m wondering if Beaver’s gonna want Veronica to expose his dads hotel scene

• wait… that guy’s Wallace’s dad right? or no is he a federal agent?

gah I can’t remember the plot but I think maybe Alisha lied to Wallace about his dad.

• aha he’s both!

• of course Jackie’s seeing other guys. Which would be fine if Wallace was ok with it as well, but they didn’t discuss it. And let’s be real, Wallace definitely thinks, or at least wants to be, a couple.

• can’t say Veronica didn’t try and warn Logan

• lmaooo Beaver inadvertently took his dad’s company down and now he’s fleeing the country in a helicopter???

• well at least Logan doesn’t have to worry about getting the shit beat out of him, again.

• Veronica’s “it was me” at the end where she talked about how the bus crash was meant for her also fits when Duncan mentions the Casablancas incident. Cause that was her too lol

• no it’s actually crazy how many plot twists they have with making you think who was behind the bus crash or why it happened. to be quite honest with you I do like this theory of it was for Veronica and Aaron hired this guy to do it

• also I really didn’t mean to watch this episode tonight. I know season 1 is considered like the Best, but I’m also really digging season 2. Which apparently a lot of people on Reddit don’t like.

veronica mars rewatch 1x04: the wrath of con

• so I never actually thought about this, but were Veronica and Logan friends at one point? Like back when Lily was still alive and dating Logan, and Veronica was dating Duncan and still had her popular friend group.

• the captions say “Japan animated” but Wallace said “Japanimated” and I like that a lot better

• alright nevermind Logan and Veronica were friends. For some reason I got it in my head they always didn’t like each other.

• literally could not figure out where I recognize this Grant guy from and it turns out he was in 6 episodes of Gilmore girls lol

• oh hi Keith

• “so you won’t mind that I cancelled your reservation at the four seasons?” Keith 💀

• I loved all the flashback scenes to homecoming

• it’s very telling that when the limo comes back to the kane’s house all of the parents are there and worried about their kids except for logan’s

• Celeste is soo obnoxious I hate parents who clearly favor a child

• also sorry but the memorial video Logan put together of Lily was not risky or offensive at all. it showed the fun side of Lily and how she’d want to be remembered. Celeste is just being a butt about her “appearance”.

• I like that Jake Kane liked it tho

• Ok random but I went to look up the actors ages and Kristen Bell, Jason Dohring and Teddy Dunn were all 22-23 playing a 16-17 year olds which is like typical (or even older) in Hollywood but Amanda Seyfried was 18 playing a 16 year old??? That’s wild and the closest gap I’ve ever heard of for an “older person” playing a teenager

• I should probably start rating these episodes. overall I liked this one. I didn’t really care for help someone at school plot with the computer hackers but I loved all the homecoming/lily flashbacks and the memorial scene. So 8/10?
