SEVENTEEN VOCAL LINES ARE AWESOME
Just watched their acoustic version of Adore U. Not a bias of them but will get wrecked immediately. DK is heart heart and their voices together makes me travel in dreamy harmony of peace and music. Mingyu is still my bias. :D
The fanmeeting and the lines changes
http://afterschooldaze.wordpress.com/
has compiled the videos. I usually don't watch fancams but I was curious on the lines distribuition so I am watching.
I am pleased to see Raina's stepping aside with the older tracks. I mean she's still one of the main, but less lead vocalists. It seems Lizzy joins Jung Ah more than once to take on the front and even Uee has gained a fewer lines (thought a few I'd already seen on most recent performances) Juyeon keeps hers and I think she even has gained a couple of lines in Because of You and Bang? (but not sure now because there was a sly change on the Japanese single of BoY and later Bang's been performed a few times more with already line changes).
Raina could start rapping if she had less lines. Just sayin' her rap is fiercer than NANA's or Lizzy's, who seems to be the heir of half of Bekah's raps (or more). Lizzy sounds too cheerful (rather than cute) at some points, but she's still fluent as a rapper so I guess they gave her that spot because of this reason. However, Lizzy's presence has tripled o.O She's suddenly lead singer and rapper, and still keeps the doubled lines with E-Young... I am glad but I also believe they could distribute some of those lines to, perhaps, E-Young?
E-Young has stepped a little bit more to the front, indeed, but her lines are still less than those should be. While Kaeun has suddenly become Kahi's heir for the raps. The girl is good. It's my favourite fierce rapper in the group right now. Probably she can still polish those skills, but for fierce raps, she cuts it right.
Juyeon's live voice gains volume but still off key... argh. Juyeon your studio voice is nice, you don't need to reach higher notes because your middle pitch is nice. I wish you could sing live in a way we could appreciate that. Uee managed to sing less pitchy and more confident.
Yes, Uee quite stands like a lead most of the times, although her lines had increased less compared to Lizzy. Although those had increased, after all.
Surprisingly, NANA hasn't increased her presence, despite she was the 'rising vocalist' during last half of 2011 and the whole 2012, as much as Lizzy seems to have spread her presence among the songs for this year (and the fan-meeting). She still stands out on thos songs she had already raps and longer lines though. She still has her moments on songs like Shampoo or Flashback, though.
With Raina stepping a little aside, it seems that Jung Ah has more lines, although it's not exactly like this, she just appears more to the front, and instead of stealing her spotlight, Lizzy's new lead seems to support her parts more than anything. Slowly she's standing our more like a leader, I wish her lines increased a little bit, thought.
I see more of everyone now, which is cool, but still think E-Young needs something else or more. I can't demand more for Juyeon if she doesn't sound better on live stages, and not that I don't feel satisfied, she indeed has worked it harder during last year, but I do feel we can demand more for E-Young. The girl deserves a chance like Lizzy had when she joined, getting her first opportunity when she became a member of OC. Lizzy took her time to get more lines and such, but that was the key for her. When E-Young joined her stage presence without holding a guitar was close to nothing but cute shy girl dancing with her unnies, now she has gained some more stage security and she looks quite fine, specially in Flashback, and sounds really good for being one of the maknaes and last members. She should stand a chance since Kaeun just landed a huge heritage for herself, which I understand, I guess the girl will just surprise some people that said she was worth nothing, or that she wasn't that good. I didn't expect her to rap and less to rap like that. Is not like she's the best of the bests, but still it sounds the best fierce rapper at the moment in AS.
I am not sure what we can expect for their next release, but it looks like Lizzy might be the item for 2013 being NANA's takeover. Lizzy and Kaeun, probably.
