I Didn't Expect Football Fans To Get This Creative With Music
I was watching old football highlights recently when one of the World Cup songs started playing in the background.
A few minutes later, I found myself looking for an instrumental version of it.
That search led me somewhere I wasn't expecting.
Instead of finding official karaoke tracks, I discovered that a lot of fans are creating their own versions. Some are recording covers, some are making sing-along videos, and others are building custom karaoke tracks from songs associated with major tournaments.
Honestly, it makes sense.
Football songs have always been more than just music. People connect them with memories, celebrations, and specific moments from tournaments. Long after the final match is over, the songs stick around.
What surprised me was how easy it has become for fans to experiment with these tracks.
A few years ago, creating a karaoke version would have required editing software and a fair amount of patience. Today, many people are using modern music separation workflows to isolate vocals and instrumentals in just a few steps.
While reading about the trend, I came across this interesting article explaining how fans create karaoke versions of FIFA World Cup songs using AI.
The more examples I saw, the more I realized that fans aren't just consuming music anymore.
They're participating in it.
They're creating their own versions, sharing them online, and finding new ways to connect with songs that already mean something to them.
It's also part of a bigger shift happening across the industry. The role of AI in music is expanding rapidly, and we're seeing new creative workflows appear all the time.
I originally started looking for one instrumental track.
An hour later, I was reading fan-made karaoke projects from around the world.
Definitely not where I expected that search to end. 😄
