Vodafone Ziggo Appoints WPP as Its New Ad Agency
It was recently announced that Dutch operator Vodafone Ziggo has selected WPP as its new ad agency. The appointment of WPP as Vodafone Ziggo comes after a very competitive pitch. WPP beat out other industry greats like Omnicom, Accenture and Publicis One, who also pitched for the Vodafone Ziggo account. Vodafone Ziggo united its marketing for Vodafone and Ziggo brands for the first time ever. WPP will be handling the united unit’s creative account.
WPP is Vodafone Ziggo’s New Ad Agency
To handle the account effectively and efficiently WPP had to set up a bespoke agency to handle the Dutch Operator’s account. The bespoke agency which the creative agency created is called WPP Go One and it is a newly established multi-disciplinary team. They will work together with the Dutch Operator and they will act as the core leadership team for the company’s operation in the Netherlands. According to Drum, the strategic creative partnership between the two organizations will be jointly based on-site with the client and Amsteldoks. Amsteldoks is WPP’s newly opened Dutch campus which draws together 15 agencies. All the agencies are housed within a single building to facilitate more integrated solutions.
Vodafone Ziggo Speaks on Appointing WPP as its Creative Agency
The Dutch Operator’s chief creative officer of consumer Marcel de Groot spoke on the recent appointment of WPP. He stated that with the rise of new players in the agency world, they have seen the rise of more integrated, client-specific models. According to Groot, they saw an opportunity to go across the traditional borders of agencies. They also saw an opportunity to develop a team to develop the best results together to make their new partner part of the very beginning of their decisions in the market.
