Planning to do a write up of each FVN Bad End Friend, basically how they got there and the mindset they have: Spoilers for Void Dreaming, Soulcreek, Santa Lucia, and and Cape Escape seasons one and two.

Obviously this is all fanfic for the whole of these stories. Enjoy and let me know if you think the characterizations could use work.

Starting us off is C'tan!Alex [Soulcreek]

When Glitch used the algorithm to suppress Byte and torture Alex it broke him yes. But not in the way Glitch wanted. Not realizing that Byte was still around Alex seized the algorithm. Fueled by his rage, pain, and hatred he consumed Glitch and used what was left of his consciousness to control the demons and start using the reality warping language that made them. His goal is to rip the secrets of Soulcreek into his influence and rewrite the world. Restore his species and unmake the atrocities that he lived through, to that end he will do anything because when he succeeds nothing he did will have mattered. The world will be better.

Personality: C'tan!Alex is dour and obsessive, he is devoted solely to his mission and responds to any threat, real or perceived with violence on par with what he himself suffered.

Fang!Rael [Void Dreaming]

Rael had intended to leave the White Fangs when on a raid he suffered an accident and was horribly maimed and scarred. Lyda and her nest gave him his cybernetics and helped him recover. All while continuing her gaslighting and emotional manipulation. Now Rael is more devoted to the Fangs than ever.

Personality: Willing to go to any lengths to protect and provide for the nest. He revels in being the villain because if he didn't then he wouldn't be able to look himself in the mirror.

Red Eye!Ben [Santa Lucia]

Unlike in canon Ben's ability to tune into the emotional states and mindsets of those around him broke him. Unable to differentiate his own thoughts and feelings from those around him he was vulnerable to the red eyed voice. It promised him all he truly wanted anymore: quiet. Now he sides with it, nihilistic in the extreme because extinction or even full destruction of the world will give him quiet. Or he dies trying and, he hopes, blessed silence follows.

Personality: Ben hides his growing madness behind a mask of optimism. He encourages those around him to 'be happy,' and 'smile' because suppressing their misery gives him a reprieve.

Lord of Ruin!Jet [Cape Escape]

Not an FVN but I gotta give Jet his flowers.

With Melvin being one of the two anchors holding the prison to the Otherside there needed to be a replacement. So Jet did the only thing he could think of; he used himself. Taking the role of Twice Promised Prince and Lord of Ruin. Melvin and the rest of the group was allowed to escape. Leaving Jet in the Otherside.

Personality: Jet remains largely unchanged, but he's in a special hell. Not only is he stuck in the Otherside fulfilling the role that his father sacrificed him for, but his only way out is to wait and trust his husband and friends to get him out. Jet is going stir crazy with trying to force himself to be hopeful.
