"Void-kin"
In "The Rogues, there is a type of race known as Void-kin. I say a type, as in singular, when there are actually five races: The Elfish, the Impish, the Kalmar, the Cryptoid, and the Voidwalkers. They are simply called Void-kin, or--the more derogatory term--Void creatures, because many consider them to be "from the Void itself."
Void-kin are generally native to Bermuda, however there have been myths, stories, and legends of such peoples dating to even before the House of Magic. After the civilization of Bermuda by Kaltrian Etos in the 11th century, these people expanded to other countries. At first only to Europe, but as travel revolutionized and new lands were discovered, Void-kin found themselves spanned across the globe.
These Void-kin found themselves as legends in the new world. With stories told of them, albeit slightly exaggerated. The House saw these people as a problem, that they could interrupt Order and even bring Chaos, simply due to these stories. As they realized that genocide should only be a last resort, they made effort to protect their missions by orderkng an immediate immigration of all Void-kin to Bermuda and a lockdown put on the location and a binding to keep the location secret to those without magic. Any who tried to reach the islands was lost to sea, and thus began the myth of the Bermuda triangle.
Despite the forced emigration, many Void-kin find themselves in the natural world. They hide themselves from the House with elixirs and masks that hide their "unnatural" features behind an illusionary mask. Jordan and his friend, Daniel Craigs, actually come across two of these masks and use them to their advantage by disguising themselves as others.
Normal humans can become Void-kin--namely the Elfish and Cryptoid--through special rituals. These rituals were once infamous for being difficult and some potentially lethal to the person performing the ritual. Since then, they have grown to be safer and less taxing. These rituals have cemented many beliefs that the Void-kin were some form of creatures straight from the void and have created the belief that Void-kin are humans cursed with some type of Voidmantic curse.
Each Void-kin race has a rich history and culture that is still somewhat seen today. From the bloody past of the Cryptoids to the arcane history of the Impish, the Void-kin leave quite the legacy.
If I had to choose a weirdass thing to be, I'd be voidsexual, voidgender, and voidkin. My pronouns would be Void/Voidself. And everything else is the abyss.
