Voider's shadow is thrown across the wall in front of him. Behind him is the familiar stomping of department grade boots. The rooftops should have been empty tonight. He should have checked before carrying out his routine. It was foolish of him to assume they wouldn't be looking for him. The flashlights behind him flicker and focus on him. "Stop!" someone shouts from behind him.

He notes a distant apartment bathed in darkness and jumps. A portal opens up right before he hits the rooftop below. Tugging in his arms and legs he braces himself for the landing. He comes out of the other end of the portal, rolling onto soft carpeted floors. The portals close behind him, leaving the patrol team none the wiser of where he went. Thankfully, the apartment he's in is empty, the owner probably enjoying the city night life.

Voider lets out a sigh and pulls up his mask. His reflection stares back at him from the window. That was a close call, he thought. The city looked beautiful from here.
