silence does the opposite for me. it's like, the more quiet a place is, the more human-speech-like noises I hear? I need a lot of noise to be comfortable. idk what i'd do without headphones.

that makes sense, too. 

And for me, while experiencing silence I will assume there is violent noise and static and energy and its me who isn’t picking up on it, so sometimes I’m better off hearing noises. Its difficult to balance.

if you put bay leaves in the soles it should help. just, the bay leaves will also stick to your socks and crunch as you walk. but i still think it's worth it
