can you write anything CaitVi? I’m aware this is super broad, but I’m sorry I just love these lesbians so fucking much 😭
Snow Day
Hi anon! Thank you so much for this request I definitely didn't use it as an excuse to rewatch Arcane. This is super fluffy (hopefully that's okay!), it's not that long because honestly- writing for one of the most popular ships in Arcane is super daunting lol, but anyways, I hope you like it! (and i'm sorry it took so long)
prompt: Vi had never seen real snow before, in the Undercity it's all polluted mush everyone dreads seeing, Caitlyn shows her how fun snow can be
Vi watched as her breath fogged up the window. Her face was smushed against the glass, hands pressed close to her cheeks as she watched the white flakes fall softly to the ground. Her eyes were wide, reflecting the snow. People below the Kiramman estate sometimes paused to look up and stare at the awed brawler. Vi’s mouth hung open in amazement, following snowflakes with her eyes, tracing the winding patterns they fell in. Her ears perked up at the sound of the door opening.
“Vi?” Caitlyn’s voice was a mix of confusion and amusement. She walked over the zaunite and wrapped her arms around Vi’s waist. She placed her chin on Vi’s shoulder, looking up at the pink-haired girl with adoration.
“What are you doing?” Vi seemed frozen as she continued to stare out the window. Caitlyn waited patiently against Vi, sinking into the other girl’s warmth.
“Cupcake…” Vi’s voice was breathless, sounding like a child inside of a candy store, “I think- I think the clouds are melting.” Caitlyn let out an amused huff, watching Vi tear her eyes away from the window to look into Cait’s eyes. Vi’s blue eyes were sparkling, excitement lighting them up.
“What is it?” she shyly asked, something uncharacteristic of the brawler. Caitlyn smiled softly up at the pinkette before turning her gaze towards the window.
“It’s snow, do you not have it in the Undercity?” her question was teasing, yet she felt Vi deflate in her arms.
“We..do,” she answered hesitantly, hands dropping from the window, “it’s just different.” Caitlyn, not wanting the other girl to block off her emotions, was quick to ask,
“Different how?” her voice was soft, allowing Vi to melt into her arms, the excitement in Vi’s eyes still lingering - but slightly dimmed.
“In the Undercity, snow isn’t- isn’t this,” she gestured out the window, “there it’s dirty sludge the color of shit that comes with the smell too. If you stand in it too long, you either lose a toe or get a super fun infection. It covers the streets and of course there’ll be the few curious children who try to play with it but at the unnatural chill it gives them-"
Caitlyn spun Vi around, stopping her sad memory monologue. Vi was going to question the Enforcer but stopped at the determination in Cait's eyes. Hesitantly, Vi raised her chin, eyes squinting playfully.
"What are you planning?" Caitlyn smiled. She turned around and walked towards the closet, opening it to start throwing sweaters and scarfs at Vi.
"Pick what you want," Vi picked up a plaid scarf with yellow and brown stripes, raising an eyebrow at Cait who just rolled her eyes, "what? It was on sale."
After Vi had bundled herself up, only her eyes and nose showing, she tried to spread her arms out in a ta da stance. Caitlyn stifled her laughter. Vi huffed, trying to retort but her words came out muffled. In an exasperated manner, Vi wrestled with her layers to pull down the scarf that was covering her mouth.
"Hey you're the one who wanted me to do this!" Caitlyn just laughed, grabbing Vi's hand once more to drag her out of the giant home. Vi stumbled as she struggled to keep up with Caitlyn's power walk. When they were outside, Vi verbally gasped at the feeling of cool air hitting her cheeks, her feet sinking into the snow that covered the streets in thick blankets. For a moment, everything was calm. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, the clean air filling her lungs, sending a feeling of accomplishment down her spine. When she opened her eyes, the world around her looked so still and clear, snowflakes fell slowly to the ground, landing peacefully on Vi's boots.
Vi was in a peaceful state of tranquility and nothing could ruin thi-
BAM!
Something cold hit the back of Vi's head, sending the unsuspecting girl tumbling forward. The sound of Caitlyn's laughter filled her ears, ringing loudly in her head. Vi was quick to stand up and spin around, eyes screaming a question. Throughout her laughter, Caitlyn tried to speak.
"It's called," giggle, "a snowball", snort, "All you do is pack snow together and throw it-" Caitlyn was cut off by snow being thrown in her face. Once she brushed away all the frigid flakes from her eyes and mouth, Caitlyn saw the pinkette doubled over in laughter.
"Cupcake, you should've seen your face!" Vi leaned forwards on her knees, bringing one hand up to wipe away an imaginary tear, "You were all laughing-at-me then boom you had a bunch of snow in your face! Bahahaha!" Vi sighed, seemingly coming down from her humor high. Caitlyn just smiled and bent over to pack a nice size snowball in her hands.
