So is Nathalie using the peacock to bring back her best friend or do we have a fun cheating situation where Gabriel thought Emelie was with him, but no, Emelie’s making out with Nathalie.

So to spin this on its head - Gabriel actually has the same motivation as he does in the show, to bring Emilie back (though the way she's 'gone' is quite different), he starts using the peacock first because he doesn't actually have the butterfly miraculous. Emilie had it and it seemingly disappeared.

Little does good ol' Gabriel know, Nathalie was gifted the butterfly by her dear friend Emilie and starts using it once Gabriel informs her of his motives and asks for her assistance in any way she can (he isn't aware she has the butterfly) so, knowing his little scheme, she dons the butterfly miraculous and does a few peculiar things. . .
